Chapter 6 - WolfTale
Revealing Secrets
~
Frisk let go of Sans and dropped back down on all fours.
Sans studied the wolf pup's appearance, seeing how the fur on his snout and chest looked a little lighter than the rest of his fur. There were also dried tears clinging to the fur on his cheeks, making it look a bit darker. Frisk's eyes were now light brown, but had a yellowish tint towards the pupil. Strangely, his hair looked just like it did when the kid was in human form.
He really did look like a harmless puppy, not some large, intimidating human-wolf hybrid that would tear you to shreds. Sans was kneeling down so he could be at eye level with the werewolf.
Frisk sat down like a dog would, his tail curled around his legs. Sans gave him a slightly worried look, Frisk tilted his head curiously in return.
"SANS? IS FRISK ALRIGHT?" Papyrus questioned, looking concerned for Frisk's wellbeing. Toriel stood behind the taller skeleton, watching silently. Her eyes were wide and fright-filled, looking too scared to speak. She seemed to be taking this situation harder than anyone else in the room was, even Frisk.
"yeah, the kid seems to be fine." Sans replied, gently scratching behind one of Frisk's canine-like ears.
Frisk didn't exactly like the fact that the skeleton was petting him like someone would to a family dog, but he'd be lying if he said it didn't feel nice. It was strange, just about every bone in his body felt extremely sensitive, however, being petted wasn't painful or irritating. After what he had experienced that night, Sans' attempts at showing him affection were very calming and soothing. Frisk couldn't help but close his eyes and gently lean into the skeleton's hand while he scratched him.
After a while, Frisk was thinking about how he would communicate to his family without using his voice. With his hand-like paws, he could try using a paper and pencil...it probably wouldn't work very well. Moving his fingers felt awkward and unnatural, which means Frisk probably wouldn't be able to hold a pencil easily. He was pretty sure that he couldn't talk anymore. But just to be sure, he decided to attempt to speak, trying to say Sans' name out loud. All that came out was a small whine.
Sans raised a brow, grinning widely. "got something you wanna say?"
Frisk nodded in a very human like motion. It was kind of strange to see a wolf nod, but it was also kind of cute.
"Sans, I wish I could tell you that I'm sorry.." Frisk thought to himself as he looked down, his ears flattening. He felt guilty for giving up the chance to apologize to Sans, if only there was a way to tell him the truth.
"sorry for what?" Sans asked with a small smirk on his face.
Frisk looked up, his ears perking and his eyes widening a bit. Apparently his wish had been granted. "You...did you hear what I said?" The small werewolf's head tilted slightly.
Sans winked. "yup."
Frisk blinked before his ears were slowly pulled back again and his snout was pointed towards the ground, though his light brown eyes were still on Sans.
Sans looked back behind him to his brother and Toriel. "you guys heard that too, right?" They both nodded in response. The skeleton noticed that Frisk's mouth didn't move when he talked, so he must somehow be telepathically speaking.
Frisk was ecstatic (yet nervous) about this new discovery. Everything about this "curse" hasn't been so bad. Frisk was a lot stronger, could now heal wounds quickly, and could still communicate with people even after he has transformed.
