Chapter 9 - WolfTale

The Wedding

~

The next morning, Toriel told everyone about what they'd be doing that day. First they had to pick up the suits and dress she'd be wearing that she ordered from a designer the night before, then she had to make baked goods for the party, and they all had to be ready by 9:00.

Frisk took a shower that morning because he had skipped taking one the last few nights, mainly because of the curse. Though, he couldn't help but notice that his hair still felt clean. Before he washed it.

After he got out of the shower and started brushing his teeth, he also noticed that his skin looked a lot brighter and cleaner than it did before. His teeth looked whiter too.

Once Frisk was finished getting ready, the family took a cab to go get their clothing. Luckily, Toriel got a hold of a fast-working designer that made suits all custom made for the boys, along with a white dress for herself.

They each tried on their clothing and had quick and easy adjustments made. Toriel paid for a one day rental, only because she knew that they'd probably never need the suits again and renting them was indescribably cheaper-even if they were custom made.

The family went home and scrambled to get everything ready. Toriel made dozens and dozens of cupcakes, cookies, and even scones. She also prepared cheesecake bites because Undyne told her that they were her favorite. Alphys couldn't decide on a favorite, so Toriel made her three best guesses.

In the time that Toriel's treats had to bake, the family put on their attire for the wedding. Both Sans and Frisk were wearing very similar suits-both had a neat little bow tie. Papyrus was wearing a more "standard" suit with a regular necktie.

Toriel had a short-sleeved dress on that was layered on the exterior. Starting at the bottom, the first layer was a dark grey and each layer was lighter than the last, creating an ombré from grey to white starting from her toes to her torso. It had a lacy collar that was accompanied with a golden-chained necklace with a single large diamond.

"hey, these are actually pretty nice. i usually don't like dressing up like this, but this is tolerable." Sans said, peering at himself in a full-size mirror.

Frisk, who was standing next to Sans, looked at his reflection as well. Frisk's suit was accompanied with white gloves. He was thankful that Toriel chose an outfit that had them. His change always starts with his hands, so in case he started changing before he could control it, at least there was something that could help him conceal it easier.

Luckily, they got everything ready in the nick of time. Toriel called the same cab to pick them up and take them to the address of Alphys' invitation. Sans and Papyrus were sitting in the middle row while Frisk and Toriel sat in the back row of three seats. Even though there was an extra seat, Frisk chose to sit right next to Toriel.

She looked at him with worried eyes, but Frisk didn't notice.

"Dear, can we talk about something while we still have the chance?" she asked quietly.

He looked up at her and nodded.

"What are you planning on doing tonight?"

Frisk didn't know what she was talking about at first, but quickly understood.

"I'm still not too sure, honestly. I'll probably just be able to hold it off until we're on our way home."

Toriel only felt more worried. "That's an awfully long time, and you've never tried to stop it before-do you think you'd be able to?"
