IT HAD BECOME EVIDENT, in their little friendship, that Lee Seok Min was the established conversationalist between the two. He always made the first move, was all smiles and song lyrics and bagged cookies, so naturally, the first thing he did when he saw Eun Ha enter the classroom the next day was leap out of his seat and run up to her and apologise. Profusely.
Which would have been acceptable – endearing, even – if he hadn't done it in front of the whole class, right there for everyone who had eyes to see.
Eun Ha just stared at him, unable to speak – maybe because of her bottled-up emotions, maybe because of the utter embarrassment she felt in that moment – and after a painstakingly long while – though really, it couldn't have been more than ten seconds – of watching him grovel and beg for forgiveness on his knees, she all but yelled at him to stand up, idiot, you look like a fool, and stop embarrassing me!
"So please forgive me, Eunnie!" he pleaded, grasping her hands and shaking them and clutching them to his chest, unaware, apparently, of how flustered that thoughtless action of his made her. "I – "
"Yes, okay, I forgive you! And I'm sorry, too!" she cried, snatching her hands away and casting their amused audience a wary glance. "Now, please move!"
"Why?"
"Because you're causing a scene, the whole class is watching, and I am going to positively die of humiliation if I have to sit here watching you kiss my feet any longer!" she exclaimed, completely ruffled.
Then she barrelled past him in the direction of her seat, and made it a point not to apologise when she accidentally rolled over his foot.
