PARK EUN HA STORMED into her room that night, positively fuming, though she knew very well that Lee Seok Min wasn't in the wrong. He'd been oblivious towards her situation, so really, he hadn't meant to offend her. But something about the way he seemed to doubt her ability to become a doctor bothered her more than she would've liked to admit.
Maybe because, in her lowest degrees, he had become the only constant person in her life. The only person who listened. Who was patient with her. Who seemed to genuinely care.
And if he didn't believe in her, then nobody would.
I'll show him, she thought. I'll go to a state college, the med school, and then –
She took out her cash box from the dresser drawer – the one she used to set apart exclusively for her piano savings – and counted the bill inside with growing dread.
When she'd finished, she slammed the box shut, shoved it inside its drawer, then slammed that shut, too.
Because well, dear reader, Park Eun Ha didn't have the money to pay for one semester of college, much more ten years of med school.
