chapter 7~what did i just do

Ceces pov//

I was on the phone when I heard someone knock on the door.

Cece-"Marcus someone is at the door can I call you back?"

Marcus-"You better."

Cece-"I will."

I smiled and hung up. We have been talking a lot more lately and I always look forward to talking to Marcus.

I went downstairs and opened the door. I saw Emilie standing in the doorway in tears.

Cece-"Emilie, my god what happened?"

She didn't even say anything. She just gave me a hug and collapsed into my arms. I walked her inside and sat her down on the couch. She was crying a lot. Wait wasn't today her date?

Cece-"Did Justin do something wrong? Did he say something."

Emilie-"He didn't say anything because he didn't show up at all."

I looked at her and she was crying still. He stood her up? Does Martinus know?

Cece-"Em I'm really sorry."

Emilie-"I didn't even want to go! I only said yes because I thought maybe it would get Martinus' attention and I could prove I was over him, but clearly I'm not."

Cece-"So does he know?"

Emilie-"I went by his house because I got him and Marcus something in Adidas and he saw me and asked how the date went but I couldn't tell him."

Cece-"Why not?"

Emilie-"I didn't want to make him feel bad because I'm pretty sure he set this all up. I didn't want him to know he hurt me."

I can't believe this. She is so concerned with how Martinus will feel that she is sitting here crying her eyes out right now more worried about him then herself. She truly has the biggest heart. Someone needs to tell him.

Emilie-"Don't tell him."

Cece-"Em he should know."

Emilie-"But I'm not ready. It's pathetic enough that I was stood up by a guy that I don't even like that a guy I'm crazy for set me up with because he felt pity for me."

Cece-"He doesn't pity you Em."

He just wants her to be happy. Why I didn't say that I don't know but I think the would make her more upset. The only thing that will make her truly happy is if she is with Martinus.

Emilie-"Whatever. I should probably go home and finish some work."

Cece-"You can stay here you know."

Emilie-"I think I just need to be alone."

She got up and went to the door.

Cece-"Emilie wait."

By the time I was off the couch and going she was out the door. I think I should call Marcus. I went to facetime and he answered on the first ring.

He was in his room so hopefully Martinus isn't here.

Marcus-"Hey Cece what's up?"
