chapter 11~i'm the worst

Emilies pov//

After I dropped off Marie, Wes and I started walking. It felt nice to be with someone new. I liked Wes. He was sweet to me and helped me get through this day.

Wes-"Emilie can I ask you something?"

Emilie-"Of course."

Wes-"Why have you been crying?"

He looked me in my red, stung eyes that hurt when the wind hit them.

Emilie-"There a lots of reasons and it takes some time to explain it."

Wes-"I've got time."

He looked at me and smiled. I squeezed his hand and pulled him towards my house. Kind of how you pull a dog on a leash but he was far from a dog.

We ran all the way to my house where I ran up to my bathroom. I opened the big window and slowly climbed out. I turned back to Wes and grinned.

Emilie-"Are you just gonna stand there?"

He grinned ear to ear. Something about his goofy smile reminded me of someone.

He climbed out on to the roof and sat next to me. It was cold but I didn't mind. I was shivering a bit and Wes put his arm around me. He made me feel wanted. Unlike everyone else.

Wes-"So why were you crying?"

Emilie-"Well it stared when my best friend liked another girl. I've been friends with him since I was born. Literally I'm just a few days younger than him. Anyways he had a crush on this girl Jennie who wasn't part of our group."

Wes-"Who's your group?"

Emilie-"Martinus, his twin brother Marcus and my best friend Cece."

Wes-"Okay continue."

Emilie-"Anways Martinus stared hanging out with this girl Jennie and she became part of our group which I didn't really like because Martinus has a crush on her."

Wes-"And let me guess you really like this Martinus kid."

Emilie-"Yea..."

I took a deep breath before I continued with the story. Wes gave me a hug.

Wes-"Its okay."

I nodded and started again.

Emilie-"Anyways he became closer with her and Marcus and Cece became closer I kind of felt a little alone because well the person I like doesn't like me back and he is my best friend."

Wes-"Who knows that you like this kid?"

Emilie-"Well at first it was only Cece and then Marcus found out because we were playing truth or dare and- actually that's not important let me skip ahead. Anyways so go to Sunday. Martinus set me up on a date because he thought I needed it. Anyways that guy he set me up with his name was Justin, he stood me up."

Wes-"What an ass. Why would he do that?"

Emilie-"I don't know but anyways I only told Cece because I didn't want the boys finding out especially Martinus because I didn't want him to feel bad. I always put my friends feelings first, especially Martinus but clearly he didn't do the same thing. Even though he yelled at that kid Justin for me and stuck up for me what happened afterwards didn't go so well. He came over and apologized and we shared an awkward moment. He tried to kiss me but we were interrupted."
