A/N: I've kinda never read Romeo and Juliet, but I know the basics. Please critique me on what I get wrong! Request by: @heart_with_wings

I stood on my balcony, hearing my father, King Garmadon, talk about the war play out with the other kingdom. We were having a ball tonight, and we were not to have any people from the other kingdom go to it, for we were finding myself a wife.

I turned around, heading to my room to look for something to wear. Sighing, I slipped on a black tux, which shimmered green in the light. I had gotten it for my birthday, and I adored it.

   Kai's POV

So, the King from the rival kingdom was having a ball tonight? For the prince? I laughed, throwing on a black, ruffled tux and a red sash. Tonight was going to be fun.

When my friends and I arrived to the palace in Ninjago Kingdom, we slipped past the guard, who was easily distracted by a bunch of butterflies. I'd call him Jay. When we got into the ballroom, my eyes immediately flew to the prince. Prince Lloyd. He looked... Handsome. He flew from girl to girl in the dance, looking like he was enjoying himself. A thing about me, I can read people easily, and this man was NOT pleased and was very bored. I slipped into the dance.

Lloyd's POV

I forced a laugh, floating in the dance I had learned earlier today with strangers I had never met before. I snapped to attention at seeing that I was suddenly dancing with a... Male... With spiky brown hair... I swore I had seen him in the war.. Fighting for the other kingdom. I stopped mid-dance with this intruder. As I opened my mouth, he quickly whispered to me.

"Prince Lloyd! Please, do not fear. I am Kai Smith, and I only want to discuss with you out on the balcony." I raised an eyebrow at this claim, 'Kai Smith' looking genuine. I turned around and walked calmly onto the balcony. He was honestly kind of.. Handsome, I would say. I would have to hide my feelings. Being homosexual is a sin, and marrying a MAN from the other KINGDOM is unlawful. I turned around sharply on the balcony and stared straight at the intruding man.

"What is it you want to discu-" I was suddenly cut off as this handsome man kissed me straight on the mouth. I pulled away quickly, looking around wildly to see if anyone had seen.

"What do you think you were doing, 'Kai Smith??!'" I whisper shouted at the now chuckling man. Cheeks flushed, I glared at him. "This is not funny! That was unlawful!" I crossed my arms, gawking at how this male stranger from another kingdom could be chuckling about kissing a prince!

"Admit it, you like it," he winked at me, turning around to walk away. I stopped him, putting my hand on his shoulder. "Well, Lloyd Garmadon. Never thought you would be the type to like a man." He chuckled, turning around. As if on instinct, I pulled him towards me, our lips locking together like puzzle pieces.

I heard a gasp come from the entrance of the balcony... My father.

"INTRUDER!" He screamed, pointing his scepter at Kai. I pulled away as quick as I could, hearing Kai whisper into my ear.

"I will be back at nightfall, my love." That was the last I heard as he jumped off the balcony, running into the woods back to his kingdom. (Ha take a shot whenever I say kingdom)

My father stormed up to me, his face steaming mad. He had seen our kiss, our confrontation. "I will not allow this!" He yelled in my face. I shrunk back, feeling less powerful than ever. "You are to find a WIFE. From OUR KINGDOM!" The King sternly calmed his voice down. "You are to go to your room. NOW." He pointed up to the tower. I nodded obediently, trudging up the gray, stone steps to my tower.

Kai's POV

I silently watched King Garmadon a talking to to the ever lovely prince. I watched the blonde beauty walk up the steps to his tower solemnly. If King Garmadon won't allow us to be together, we shall run away. I ran back to my house to grab the stuff I would need, hoping that Prince Lloyd would agree to it.

Lloyd's POV

I stood at the window in my lowly room.

"Oh Kai, oh Kai, wherever shall you be..?" I called out, setting my head in my hands, staring out into the darkness.

"Lloyd!" I heard a shout from the ground. Looking down, I spotted Kai, holding a rope and a bag filled with stuff I had no clue of. Grinning, he tossed the rope up to me, for me to climb down. I smiled slightly, tying the rope to my bed frame, hoping it would keep steady as I climbed down.

As I got to my ground, me and my love at first sight cut the rope, running as we heard my father open the door to my room, screaming that I had been kidnapped. We were running away.
