I've always a had a strange way of looking at death. Death was just a way to escape your troubles. Which is why I, Kai Smith, am a hired assassin. I assassinate bad guys, good guys, innocent, and guilty, and for a price. I take a life for someone, they pay up with whatever's most valuable to them.
I stared down at the list in my hand, one name standing out above the rest.
Lloyd Garmadon. A picture of this blonde teenager with the brightest, fake-est smile I've ever seen brightly shone above the rest of the pictures. I decided to look up this Lloyd Garmadon to see why he was on the list, the answer surprising me.
Lloyd Garmadon: Wanted for murder and treason. Dead or alive. If returned, Reward: 11,000$
I gasped in surprise, going into deeper detail. In the past few weeks, that short kid had killed his father AND mother, and teamed with a different country during the Ogre War, spying on our Kingdom. Now I could see why this kid could be wanted. I cracked my neck, aching from last nights assassination. Time to get down to business.
Lloyd
I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, my chest heaving as I tore through the woods, the palace guards hot on my trail. Pulling up my green leather hood, shifting the arrows to my right shoulder, I climbed up a giant oak tree, hiding in the green leaves of the branches.
Breathing heavily, I opened the satchel I had just taken from the Queen, grinning. I poured out the item I had been searching for. A flower. This, this, was NO ordinary flower. It was a flower that could heal any wound, only being able to be used once. I had been requested to deliver it to Cole Brookstone, my friend for who knows long, but alas. I always go back on deals.
I leaned against the bark, messing up my greasy blonde hair. Crossing my leg over the other, I looked down below, watching the knights storm past, searching for this "villain" they call me. I sighed, crossing my arms as I breathed in the pine scent of the forest, watching the sparrows play on the ground.
I had done no villainy to the kingdom. Alas, 'twas the kingdom who had been cruel to its peasants. Having us over pay taxes, sending our CHILDREN off to war! Tis crazy and foolish! So I took back our money, sided with the other kingdom, in which my friends Cole and Jay live in, and helped their kingdom win to give the peasants back their gold!
I am seen as an evil boy, but despite my awful short height, I am 17 years old. And-
My thoughts were cut off as an arrow swerved past my head. Stch! The arrow landed in the tree right beside my head. I stood up, drawing out my sword, searching wildly for the knights, none to be found. Looking up, I spotted spiky brown hair, a black robe with a red dragon imprinted on it, and a red bow filled with golden arrows. There's my assigned assassin.
The queen must've assigned him to me.
"Alas, sir! I have done no harm." I claimed as I jumped off of the 30 foot tall tree, landing on my feet. I held my arms up, smiling my 'baby' smile up at the stranger. Pulling off my hood, his eyes softened at my childish features. "All I have done is help the people of my kingdom, sir. Please come down so we can talk this out."
I sighed in relief as the tall man climbed down out of the pine tree he had been watching me in.
"What's in the satchel, kid." He pointed at the leather bag I had slung around my waist. I took it off my belt and tossed it to him. He peeked inside, raising an eyebrow at what was inside.
"Tis just a flower, for my grandmother, sir." I lied straight to his face.
Kai
He lied to me. Have I mentioned, I can tell when people lie?
I chuckled, slinging the bag over my arm. Grabbing my bow, I noticed him grab a green bow as well.
"Give me back. That. Flower. Sir," his child-like features were now gone, replaced by a devilish look. It was kinda hot.
"What's so important about it?" I asked, bracing myself to grab one of the golden, poison tipped arrows the queen had provided me with.
"Why should I tell you?" He grinned maliciously at me, taking another step towards me. This kid had nerve. His foot snapped a stick as he stomped his foot down. I pulled an arrow out of the sheath and set it in my bow, aiming carefully at his head. "Okay, fine. I need it to heal myself." He laughed. "The queen says I killed my family." He looked at me straight in the eyes. His eyes changed colours. From green, to red. "I did. I did it because I had to. Alas sir, they were the most evil people I had ever known. I wouldn't have killed them if they hadn't tried to kill me first." He shrugged, taking another step towards me. He was nearly 7 feet away.
I set the arrow back into the sheath. "And why do you need to heal yourself?" I held the satchel away from him, knowing he would try to grab it. The birds chirped around us, as if impatient about hearing his answer.
"Because I'm going to die soon." He laughed, but was cut short as blood spurted out of his mouth, him falling to the side, clutching his chest. Looking behind him, I saw a team of guards from the palace holding a bow. This can't be good.
The boy looked in so much pain, blood seemingly pouring out of his body. The strangest thing happened. A tattoo I had thought had said It Is Coming now said It Is Accomplished. I looked at the boy, then at the satchel, the guards were heading towards me. I sighed and tossed him the satchel.
"Th-thanks, sir." Poor Lloyd was cut off again as he coughed up more blood, smiling brightly at me, blood coating his white teeth.
Lloyd
I was in so much pain, I didn't want to be alive. I wished to be dead with all my might, because this stranger couldn't help me.
But then he tossed me the precious leather bag with the flower. I grinned up at him, reaching to grab the flower. Until, the knights caught up, seeing him helping me. They shit him with an arrow.
I am not a selfish person. In fact, I am more selfless. I took a deep breath.
Kai
Oh my god. My chest felt as if it were splitting apart. I saw the golden haired boy also dying in front of me take a deep breath. I hadn't completed my job.
"Yknow, there's something I've always wanted to do before I died," he said. He said before he died. Before HE died. The knights had left us to die and rot in the woods. Before HE, the boy, died.
"Wait-" I was cut off as I felt his lips lightly touch mine, then felt an item touching my wound. He pressed it deep into the wound, kissing me deeper. As he pulled away, I looked down to my chest to see he has pushed the light pink flower all the way into the wound. I looked up and saw him collapsed on the ground, chest not moving. And then I was healed.
And I will NEVER forget the boy who kissed me. And healed me. Which is why I'm writing this. I'm writing my death wish. To see him again. All the pain I've caused in the world because of my assassinations. I want to be healed from it. I won't forget Lloyd Garmadon, because I'm soon going to see him again. And there is no lily to stop me.
That was absolute shit. I literally just improvised as I went along.
