After all the oohs and aahs and seeing all the other weird looking tributes, we had training. We got to practice our skills before we show the Game Makers. As I'm seeing all the tributes during training, I thought it was unattainable to win. But like Gerald said "We have to try." I practice every skill my
mentors told me to. After about a half hour, the Game Makers arrived behind the force
field and we all left except for the boy from 1. I think his name is Rhine. It was soon my
turn. I gave it all I got. And I remembered Katniss telling me "If they don't pay attention:
make them." After I got back I joined Gerald, Katniss, Peeta, Haymitch, and Haymitch's
bottle of whatever. Haymitch was Katniss and Peeta's mentor with a wry sense of humor.
"Rhine 9" "Glitter 7" Soon we got to district 12s results. "Gerald Stevenson 8" We all
clapped. 1 is the lowest you can get 12 is the highest. 8 is pretty generous for the Game
Makers. "Jenna Treverton 9". I got 9! 9! Everyone claps. In the meantime, we were dressed
for the games and Katniss, Peeta, and Haymitch gave us tips. "The arena is never the
same." "Water can be your enemy but you also need it." "Make allies" "Stay Alive."
What kind of advice is stay alive? At this point, we were sent off to be injected with a
tracker, sent into my tube sent up and into the arena.
