Take me home

Vic helped me bring my bags inside, and showed me to my room. It was a really nice house, and there was a pool in the backyard. I unpacked all my stuff and realized that I hadn't taken a shower or even changed my clothes in a few days, and I felt disusting. I still had dried blood in my hair from my mom.

I took a clean t-shirt, and red skinny jeans into the bathroom and started the shower. The cool water was refreshing and I scrubbed all the stress from the past few days away. It was nice that the doctor gave me a waterproof cast because I was really looking forward to jumping in the pool; or standing in it, considering I couldn't swim...

I finally got out of the shower and brushed my hair out. Huh, Vic had never seen me clean, or what my hair looked like when it wasn't red with blood. Cool. I heard talking and music coming from downstairs and I felt kind of left out so I hurried back to my room to dump my stuff. But when I opened my door, there was a black lace coctail dress waiting for me on my bed and a note.

Wear this and come down to meet people

-Vic

I appreciated that he wasn't forcing the whole 'call me Dad' thing right away, and this dress was adorable! Mental note *thank Vic later. I realized that when he said meet people, he probably meant other bands and famous people I knew. Good thing Vic decided what I was going to wear! I changed into the dress and dried my hair. It fell straight, as usual. I never wore makeup so I just threw on some black flats and headed downstairs. I don't know why I felt the need to wear shoes inside my own home though...

I came to the top of the stairs and saw a sea of my heroes. They all looked up at me and I knew I looked freaked out, mostly because I was. But then I saw Cali and Mark talking to Kellin Quinn and I couldn't help but smile.

"Surprise!" Everyone yelled. I laughed as I walked downstairs and met Vic at the bottom.

"What's this?" I asked, raising my voice over the music.

"Just thought we'd throw you right into the family. You know, to completely overwhelm you as soon as you get here." I laughed.

"Great, thanks. But yeah, thanks for the dress!" I said.

"Yeah, it looks nice. Welcome home, kiddo." he said wrapping and arm around my shoulder.

"Yeah, but Vic, remember? I don't know if I'm staying yet..." I regretted saying that as soon as I said it. Vic tried to hide it, but he looked really hurt.

"Oh, right, well, for now you're here so let's go meet people!" He said excitedly as he dragged me to a group of people. "Guys, this is my daughter, Jodie, Jo this is--"

"All Time Low, I know." I said.

"Aww! A child! The innocence! I must corrupt her!" Jack screamed pulling me in for a hug.

"Jacky! My turn!" Alex yelled. Jack let me go and turned and hugged Alex, who then ruffled my hair and hugged me. I couldn't help but 'aww' as they walked away. Who doesn't ship Jalex? Nobody.

Vic pulled me away and I met some other bands and their friends. I felt kind of awkward around everyone though, considering they were all big hot shots who I have been basically in love with half my life. And no one was even drinking, it was really strange. I mostly hung around Cali and Mark the whole night. Around midnight people started heading out, and I wasn't tired, but a little bored. I needed something to at least give me a little buzz. I noticed Vic coming over to me.

"Ugh, I need a beer!" I said.

"Here." He said, handing me a plastic cup. I took it and took a sip, and practically gagged on it.

"What kind of beer is this?" I asked, holding up the cup. "And why was no one drinking earlier?"

"Root," he said sitting down next to me. "And because I told them not to." He said, addressing my next question.

"Well, why would you take the fun out of the night?"

"Because you're fifteen and shouldn't be drinking." I sighed. I knew he would bring this up. I was starting to get tired and got up to go to bed. I handed the beer wannabe back to Vic and got up.

"There's no such thing as too young." I said before walking off.
