Vic's POV

I awoke to whispering outside my bunk and rubbed my eyes. I peeled back the curtain to see if Jo had come back. Jo... Where are you? I listened to the frantic whispering and realized that whoever was speaking was talking about me.

"But why would she just go?" Someone who I thought might be Jaime asked.

"I don't know. This doesn't make any sense. How are we going to tell Vic?" Someone else asked. I was sure they were Tony. I poked my head out and glanced around. The two were not in the bunk room, but just outside the slightly open door of the front lounge. Jaime shook his head.

"Should we even tell him?" Tony sighed.

"We have to, that's his daughter." I climbed out of my bunk and pushed opened the door. Tony and Jaime stared at me with a surprised look.

"Tell me what?" I asked in a small voice. I felt so weak without Jo. Just knowing that she might be hurt and I couldn't protect her put me on-edge. Jaime sighed and Tony ran his fingers through his hair. "Tell me what?" I asked a bit more urgently.

"Well, uh, Vic...this isn't something you want to hear--"

"Just tell me!" I screamed. They looked shocked by my sudden outburst. "That's my daughter! Tell me what the fuck happened!" I screamed when they didn't answer. I knew I was close to tears at that point.

"She, um, she went to find Danny." Jaime finally explained.

"W-What?" I chocked out. Tony handed me a piece of paper.

"Our manager gave this to me this morning. She said she left to protect us." He said. My lip quivered as I read through the letter. Her letter which was basically a suicide note.

"W-Why? Why would she go? My baby..." I whispered. I slumped down on the couch next to me and just stared at the hastily scribbled letter. "How could she...? Where did she...? Why...?" I couldn't form words and my mind felt so jumbled. She just left? But why? "She didn't say where she was?" I asked.

"No, that's all there is. There was no return address on the envelope." Tony sat next to me and I squeezed my eyes shut, not wanting to cry again. "Mike's at the police station right now. If she turns her phone on, they should be able to track it. But it's been off all morning." I glanced at the clock. It was almost noon. I felt bad I had slept all day when the rest of the guys were trying to help find my daughter. I looked up at Tony and Jaime with pleading eyes.

"We can meet him there if you want." Jaime said. I nodded and got up to get dressed. "And Vic?" He called as I walked into the bunk room. I turned back and looked at him. "We're going to find her." I nodded and tried to smile.

Tony drove us to the police station. I jumped out of the car and ran inside to see Mike standing at a counter talking to a man who was sitting at the computer. He looked up at me and wore a sympathetic look.

"You didn't find it?" He shook his head and hugged me.

"We're going to keep trying though. As soon as she turns it on." I shook my head.

"What if she knows we can track her and she never turns it on?"

"Vic, she will. We aren't going to just let her go. We'll find her. Don't worry." I swallowed hard and Mike patted my back.

"Uh, Mike?" The guy behind the counter said.

"Yeah?"

"We found her."

"What!?" I squealed. I pushed past Mike and looked over the guy's shoulder at the computer screen. It zoomed in on...San Francisco? A little red dot blinked and told us where she, or at least her phone, was. "Oh, my god...Why the hell is she in San Francisco?" I asked. The guys laughed, I guess glad to see me happy again.

"Do you really care? Lets go pick her up!" Jaime said. I nodded and followed them out to the car.

"Should we call her?" I asked. I wasn't sure if she would run again if we called her and told her we were on our way. Tony passed me his phone as a signal to call her. I went to her contact and pressed call.

"Uh...hello?" I heard her sigh. I felt so relieved when it was her voice and not a doctor's or something.

"Jo!? Oh god, are you okay? Why was your phone off? Why didn't you tell me what happened?" I started asking her a million questions. She made a noise which sounded like it was one of disgust. Gee, feeling the love...

"Vic, didn't you get the letter?"

"Yeah, I did, but Jo you can't just leave like that. I didn't know if you were, like, dead or something."

"Yeah, well that's great, listen, I gotta go. Don't call me again." She said. It sounded like she was panting.

"Wait! Jo, can't we just talk for a minute?"

"Not the best time."

"Why not? What are you doing? It sounds like you're panting. JODIE MAE ARE YOU DOIN' IT AGAIN!?"

"No! I'm just a little busy right now." I heard a bang in the background. "Fuck!" She whispered to herself.

"Jo!? Was that a gun!?"

"Uh...maybe. I have to go, Vic."

"No wait! Jo come home!" I screamed into the phone.

"I can't. It's not like you ever wanted me anyway. Bye, Vic."

"What!? Jo! Jo?" She had hung up on me. I didn't realize I had been screaming so loud until I glanced at Mike who was leaning away from me like I was covered in bird shit or something. "Sorry..." I sighed.

"What's she doing?" I shook my head and gave Tony back his phone.

"She...she was being shot at...she...said I never wanted her anyway so it didn't matter..." I dropped my head and sniffled. I rubbed my eyes.

"Vic, she knows you love her. That's just something she's telling herself so she doesn't feel so bad. You said she was being shot at? Is she okay?"

"I don't know. She was running...Tony, can you hurry up?" I asked getting really anxious.

"Yeah, but Vic, it's going to take a few hours to get there from here." He answered.

"You look exhausted, Vic. Maybe, You should try to get some sleep. We'll wake you up when we're there." Jaime added. I nodded and leaned back against the side of the car, closing my eyes.
