Chapter 5
Ivy's Point of View
Shoot first, think second. I usually always stood by that. But tonight, my brain decided to think first and shoot second.
I hissed in pain, dropping my stuff in the foyer.
"DAD!" I hollered. I knew it was pointless. I doubt he would hear me in his room. But I needed help because I was close to blacking out.
I was targeted tonight. It was our usual drug exchange. Nothing special. But it turned into a blood bath.
With every man shooting at me.
I would love to shrug it off to a drive by. But in order for it to be a 'drive by' they would have had to drive fucking past. Instead they sat in the shadows in a black sedan and only attacked when we were exchanging the drugs and money.
I would love to say it was a robbery.
But they didn't take a darn thing.
The only reason I got out of there alive was because my men fired straight.
I personally took out two of the masked men. But I had already been shot before I starting firing back because my brain was thinking, this doesn't feel right. The Nomads would be after the cash and the drugs. Instead the purpose of tonight seemed to be me.
Which made me come to one conclusion. It wasn't the Nomads.
"DAD!"
Finally I heard a door open. Just as I slumped down in our formal lounge chair, my blood immediately staining the white fabric.
"Shit Ivy. What happened!" Dad finally appeared.
"Bullet's out. But the bleeding won't stop can you call Jeff?" I said my brain starting to get thick and flocky from the lack of blood.
Wasn't my first bullet wound. Wouldn't be my last.
Dad was on his phone, I assumed to Jeff, who normally stitched me up.
I was going to tell Dad that it wasn't a random attack. I was going to tell him that this wasn't the Nomads. But I passed out before I could.
Ryder's Point of View
It was a smart move. I inhaled on my cigarette while the tattooist worked on my back piece. I got him. I saw him drop. Mightn't have been a head shot, but it was darn close to being one. If his bloody men hadn't started firing back at us making us retreat.
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO!"
I looked up. I was waiting for when he heard about tonight.
I exhaled a mouthful of smoke. "Something you should have done."
"I told you over and over. We are at peace with them!" Dad roared at me. "Did you kill him? Because I am telling you now Ryder, if he isn't dead, you will be if they find out we did this."
"We can take them!"
"NO WE CAN'T! Why else do you think we are at peace with them! Well we were at peace with them, till tonight. I swear Ryder if you send me to war, just because you have a thing against this bloke."
"He is taking money, we should have. He is killing men, we should be killing. And he is going to rule half a country that should be mine!"
Dad narrowed his eyes at me. "The Maddison's could think the same about us. Who do you think is stopping the Apprentice from taking you out? This peace I have with Ivan. That's it!"
