MASON'S grip on the flashlight tightens as she stares face to face with the "mole bear." She stands desperately still as it swings its tail back and forth moving closer and closer to her shivering body. She can't see any eyes, so uses its other senses to find its way around. It waddled so close to her can smell its putrid breath.

Its tentacle like mouth wiggles and squirms saliva dripping on her shoes. A choking sound comes from its throat as its belly begins to jiggle up down. It's mouth begins to widen. Mason has seen this behavior before in Spitting Cobras.

Oh shit.

She hits the floor of the wet cave and rolls away just in time. Fluorescent orange venom releases from its hideous mouth striking a tall stalagmite. She watches in horror as the "goo" melts away at the hard rock like it was ice. But it also gives her an idea.

The mole bear rears back its head and screams. Scrambling, she lunges again just before it spits at her again. The poison sprayed everywhere. The walls are dissipating and burning away at its toxic touch. A tiny of it falls onto her shoe. It bleeds right through and burns like the sun.

"AHHHH!" She cried.

Limping she uses the wall to propel herself forward. She makes it to the spot where the tapping ultimately stopped. She leaned against the wall, and suddenly she can hear a faint tapping behind her.

"HEY UGLY!" She screams. "Over HERE!" The hideous beast turns its massive body around and stomps the ground like an angry bull. "COME AT ME! THAT'S RIGHT!" She kept going. "You-" She didn't have time to finish her insults. It charged at lighting speed. Spit flying from its mouth.

Wait for it... She warns herself. You have to wait. The ground rumbles as it gets closer and closer. It begins to gurgle preparing to spit again. NOW!

She moves a split second before the mole bear releases a flood of venom right on the tunnel wall behind her. The monster is too big to stop in time. It crashes head on into the disintegrating stone making the tunnels echo a BOOM! The caves grind as they melt away. Its unsteady legs finally breaking.

Her flashlight begins to flicker on and off.

"No, no no no no." She tries to hit it.

It flickers in one more desperate attempt;

Then there was darkness.

. . .

JAMES kept clicking on the wall with a rock even when the other side stopped. His headlamp flickered as he leaned against the cave for a rest. His head bent low and he closed his eyes for a brief moment.

"Hey man." Bo put a hand on his shoulder. "Look, you aint good to us dead. Drink. Some. Water. Or I am showing it down your throat." He shoved a canteen in his hands. To Conrad's surprise when he raised the crisp water to his lips... could hardly stop drinking.

"how long have we been down here?" Jin asked miserably.

"I'm not sure." Conrad gasped for breath. "Maybe twelve hours? Maybe?"

"It was Monday when we came in." Bo slid down the side of the wall.

"I can't imagine what she's been through." Jin joined Bo. "Being in here for that long... alone." That will do something to a person, I can only imagine. And with those centipedes..." she shuddered.

"We get it Jin thankyou." James snapped.

"Whoa." She stood her hands clenched. "I'm just saying, she may be a different person when we find her. Prepare yourself for that."
