Something was wrong. James could feel it. Mason was perched up at the top her muscles tense and her legs shaking.

"Is everything alright?" He called.

"I would choose your words carefully." Garret threatened toying with a grenade in his hands.

"Everything is just fine." She shouted back.

James froze. Fine. She had used the word fine. Months ago they had decided to create a code name in case they were ever in serious trouble and needed help immediately. They had never had to use it until now. What could be wrong? He wondered. The answer hit him like a lightning bolt. Garret. He growled in his throat. How had he not seen this coming before? He was too trusting he was too off guard.

"Well if you feel yourself slipping don't worry we're down here we'll catch you." He called hoping she would understand. "Bo..." he hissed. "Get ready to catch Mason. Garret has gone rouge." He said so quietly he was practically mouthing it." Bo's face went furious as he nodded sharply.

. . .

Mason stared down the barrel of his gun her lips pursed and her sweaty face angry. "Hold on let me grab it." She said. She was about to do the scariest thing she'd ever done. It was the ultimate trust fall test. As she reached for the film carefully she pretended to lose her grip. She screamed as she plummeted to almost certain death beneath her. She closed her eyes waiting for the smashing ground to crush every bone in her body.

But it never came.

She landed squarely into a pair of huge strong arms a bright light shining in her face. "I got you girl." Bo grunted. "Is garret really rouge?" He asked. Mason nodded her heart jumping out of her chest. Shakily she climbed out of his arms and fell into James grasp.

"Are you alright love?" He asked feeling around her face like a concerned mother.

She gulped. "Mm-hm."

"We need to move away from the hole." The three of them crowded around Jin who was pressed against the wall.

"Whoa! Are you ok? That was a fall."

"Im fine." She crossed her arms.

"Ok everybody." Conrad leaned in and whispered. "Garret has gone rouge."

"Yeah I'd say he pointed a gun in my face." Mason hissed. Conrad glared at her hard.

"Our best bet is to lure him down -."

"That son of a-"Jin snapped. Bo slapped a hand over her mouth but it was to late her voice rang through the tunnel.

After a few moments of dreadful silence Garret stuck his head through the tunnel and shouted. "All I want is the camera."

"NEVER. GOING. TO. HAPPEN!" Mason screamed at the top of her lungs.

James listened to the silence afterward and her a small click. "EVERYBODY RUN!"

"Bo slung Jin over his shoulder and hauled her across the room. A small object clattered on the stone floor and few seconds later it exploded. BOOM! The cavern shook as pieces of shrapnel shot across the room embedding deep in the rock. The dust began to settle and everyone came out of their hiding places.

"If you want the camera you're going to have to come and get it!" Conrad shouted.

"Or I could leave you all here to die." Garret.

"Except I found the way out!" He held up his arms and let out a maniac laugh. Garrets answer was yet another grenade forcing them to retreat even further into the cave. Mason shuddered as she watched the only hope of escape slip like water through her fingers.

Jin groaned as Bo picked her up and moved her farther and farther away. "This cave isn't steady." JIn warned. "I've been listening to it ever since we came in. It's going to eventually collapse. WE can't. GO. Back. In." Her voice was lined with burning fire.

"She's right." Mason agreed.

"If I can get close enough, I can get a good shot with this baby." She patted her AK47.

"You can't, not with him throwing bombs down every second." Bo rejected.

"Then let's give him the camera." Mason said.

"No way." Bo snarled.

"I'll throw it up to him." She emptied the film case and put a couple of rocks inside. "When he catches it..." She looked at jin. "Take the shot."

"No that's too dangerous." Conrad crossed his arms.

"Do you have a better idea I'm all ears."

"We go back in-"

"No." She stopped him off her words cutting the air. "I'd rather get shot."

Bo and Jin looked away awkwardly as the two of them faced off. "Well I'd rather you didn't." He was forcing himself to be calm. "I didn't come into this God forsaken cave just so you could almost die again."

"So you're blaming me now." She puffed her chest the way she did when she was angry. "I'm sorry for the trouble I caused." Sarcasm dripping from her tone.

"Well we wouldn't be here that's for sure." His voice went low. Mason's face boiled red.

"Ok that's enough." Jin snapped. "I know you're worried about her but she's right James. We can't go back in there." She leaned forward. "Get me close enough and I will end him."
