Goddamnit

Goddamnit

Goddamnit all to hell!

That son of a bitch, James attacked Alex. How? I don't even know!
I ran towards him, tears filled my eyes. There Alexander lay unconscious and bleeding. I gasped, my eyes trailing to his stomach the source of the bleeding. I shook my head in disbelief, not able to grasp a grip on the fact that James had just shot my platonic brother.

The distant sound of an ambulance told my heart, he would be okay, but my head said differently. I blocked out every sound as Washington left to greet the medics.
I felt a hand grip my shoulder, tears now streaming from my eyes. I held Alex close, too afraid I felt like, that, if I let go, I would never see him again... I know I was being selfish, but I couldn't care less.

Multiple medics attempted to pull me away, eventually, they had pried me off my brother. My vision was blurred, I struggled and thrashed at their arms, as they dragged me farther and farther away from Alex.

I soon grew tired and gave in, collapsing to the floor. Two out of the four that held me back, caught me before I hit the ground. In the distance, through my now extremely blurry vision, I saw the ambulance that Alexander was in, drive off towards the horizon of the city.

One paramedic gasped, "She's bleeding!"
Wait... What...
My eyes felt droopy and my vision was now just smudges of colours, a static sound filled my ears and I suddenly felt light headed.
"We need to get her to the hospital!"
"We don't have the right resources here to stitch the wound back up!" I heard them call to each other, faintly, though.

I gasped as I sat upright, a lingering pain in my leg caused me to groan in irritation. My scar must have somehow opened.
Alex...
A small voice in the back of my mind called softly, my eyes widened. Ignoring the pain, I got out of the hospital bed and ran into the lobby, thankfully I was still in my uniform and not a hospital gown... that would have been really awkward.

I heard a call from a nurse, "Miss Y/n! Wait!"
I suddenly stopped, and the poor nurse came crashing into my back. I turned to face her, smiling as she ranted about how I wasn't supposed to leave and that she would be fired for letting me leave.
I placed my hands on her shoulders and chuckled, "Hey, I'm fine, I've been through worse,"
I smiled gently at her, "And if anyone tries to fire you for doing nothing wrong, they can deal with me, so please don't beat yourself up over it, ma sœur."
She smiled and handed me a coin, "At least, get yourself some water" She giggled lightly. I rolled my eyes, but smiled and nodded all the same.
"Oh, do you happen to know where Alexander Hamilton is?"
"Oh. Him, he is currently having surgery to remove six bullets from his abdomen, he arrived with a man called George Washington, he was put down as Family, on both of your records." She answered. I nodded.

I walked into the waiting room; Marquis, Washington, Hercules and Eliza were waiting together, quietly whispering to each other.
Lafayette had his back to me, so, me being a mean and mischevious soulmate, formulated a plan.

Eliza and Mulligan looked at me, about to get up and hug me, before I pressed a finger to my lips, motioning them to be silent, they understood and continued with what they were previously doing.

I slowly walked up behind Laf, grabbing and rolling up a magazine on the way. I leant close to his ear, Eliza and Mulligan tried to hold back their laughter.
"'Long Live the King'.  The Lion king. Act 1. Scene 9. Line 39" I said and hit his head with the magazine, he jumped in surprise, by this time Eliza and Herc were laughing their asses off and General-Dad even chuckled.
"Ha, you scared me, mon amour." He chuckled, moving over in his chair so I could sit down, as there were no other empty seats near where we were sitting.
"Since when were you calling me 'My Love'?" I asked jokingly as I sat down, basically on him.
"I, um, well...Dieu"
I laughed punching him pathetically on the arm.

We talked and joked for a little bit, I also explained what happened to me, then the nurse from before walked up to us.
"Alexander has just woke up from surgery, he's asking for a..." She trailed off looking down at her clipboard, we all sat on the edge of our seats in anticipation. "Lafayette and Y/n, he's in room 494." With that, she smiled and walked off.

Laf and I made our way to the elevator, the door opened and he walked in. I stopped, "Um, I don't trust these... Can we take the stairs?" I asked, he just smiled.
"Of course," We headed to the stairwell, "Y/n, this may not be the best time to tell you this but..." He trailed off as we made our way up one flight of stairs.
I looked at him with one eyebrow raised, "Yeah...?" I waited for him to continue.
We had climbed another two flights before he started speaking again.
"Well... I may sort of, how you say... like you?"

I stopped, my hand placed on the door.
"Sorry... I probably shouldn't have said anything.."
He didn't see the smile that had placed its self on my lips, without thinking I wrapped my arms around his torso, pressing my head into his chest. He stumbled back a bit, before wrapping his arms around me too.

We stayed like that for a few moments, before I remembered, "Alex!" I ran through the door and down the corridor, towards room 494.
Laf caught up with me and was about to walk into the room.
"Marquis, wait..." He turned to me, "Oui?"
"I never gave you a proper answer... I, like you too" And without warning, I placed a kiss on his lips, and to my surprise, he kissed back.... Like who would want to kiss me?

It was short and simple but it meant the world to me. I smiled at him, then asked, "Too soon?" He just chuckled and shook his head.

I opened Alex's door, he was grinning like and idiot and clapping excitedly,
"Aww, my baby sister just had her first kiss!" I looked down in embarrassment, Lafayette laughed putting an arm around me.

We talked for a minute or two, "Alex?" I inquired, "Mmhmm," He hummed in response, "Why did you ask to see Marquis and I?" He just grinned.
"I just wanted to say that Lafayette had permission to date you, I mean it was clear the two of you liked each other"

I blushed, and Laf looked down, his cheeks slightly pink. I hide my face in Laf's arm, causing them both to laugh.

"Je t'aime, Lafayette,"

"Je t'aime aussi, Y/n"
"Aww" A giddy Alexander smiled, "I just witnessed the first 'I Love You's'"
