Trinity's P.O.V
"Remind me, why are we hiding in the wardrobe again, oh dear brother of mine?" I asked, looking over at Sirius, who was staring intently out of the crack in the door.
"We're waiting until Father has gone upstairs, he sounded like he was in a bad mood and I don't fancy another incident like last time, do you?" He asked, as the sound of thumping footsteps got ever closer to our hiding place.
"No, I don't, but I think he's made it to his bedroom now, so let's go."
The summer holidays seemed to be dragging along at the speed of a flobberworm, and since the rest of the Black family hadn't forgiven me and Sirius for making it into Gryffindor, it seemed like six weeks of hell.
We spent most of our time shut up in one of our rooms, shouting at our parents, or enduring the wonderful thing our parents liked to call discipline.
While it was nothing physical, both Sirius and I hated being locked inside our rooms, which was our mother's favourite punishment, that and stopping any owls who tried to deliver us letters anyway.
So all in all, summer sucked.
Sirius threw open the doors to the wardrobe dramatically, and we both stepped out in sync, only to be stopped by a voice:
"What were you two doing in a wardrobe?" I jumped and turned around, soon identifying our younger brother Regulus as the speaker.
"That's none of your business, Regulus, go back to being a good, Slytherin boy for Mummy and Daddy now, why don't you?" I mocked coldly, even though a part of me was pulled back to the time when Sirius, Regulus and I were stuck together like glue, nothing could tear us apart.
Regulus looked up, hurt glimmering behind a sheen of pretence in his eyes, but soon composed himself and glared at me and Sirius, only to be met by two pairs of stormy grey eyes with an equally resentful look on our faces.
"Come on, Trinity, we should leave Mr Goody-Two-Shoes alone, he must be busy trying to make up for the fact his older sibling are no-good Gryffindors." Sirius grabbed my arm, and we both headed back towards Sirius's room, where we were based before the angry raging tornado that was Orion Black had stormed through the front door.
Just as we walked through the bedroom door, an owl appeared tapping at the window of my brother's room.
"That's James's owl," Sirius said, unlocking the window to let the owl, Hatchlit, into the room.
Dear Sirius and Trinity,
Hope you are having a good summer, well, as good as it can be, and I just wanted to let you know that my mum and dad say you can come over for the rest of the summer.
Ask your mum and dad and send a reply with Hatchlit as soon as possible.
See you soon,
James"They'll never let us go," I muttered sadly, looking over at Sirius, whose eyebrows were furrowed in concentration.
"They will if there's something in it for them. Like getting us off their backs for the rest of the summer." He said, and then glanced at me for confirmation.
I grinned at him slyly, and we ran downstairs together, searching for our mother, who was lurking somewhere around 12 Grimmauld Place.
Sirius' P.O.V
"What do you two want? Dinner isn't for another half-hour," Mother said, looking at me and Trinity as if we were something unfortunate on the bottom of her shoe.
Walburga Black was once a gorgeous young woman, you could tell by the ghost of her good-looks that still haunted her sunken face, but it doesn't take a genius to work out that her features had been warped by bitterness and hatred. Mainly aimed at muggle-borns and her two oldest children.
"We got a letter from our friend, he wants us to come and stay for the rest of the summer. It means you don't have to keep an eye on us for a long time, and you can dote on Regulus as he goes into his first year. It's a win win situation!" I said, with a charming grin (not that my mother ever fell for that one).
"What's his surname?" The older woman probed, although that was not the question she was really asking.
'Is he pureblood?' would probably have been a more accurate choice.
"Potter. Fleamont and Euphemia's son. In other words, pureblood." Trinity rolled her eyes at the predictability of Mother's words, she really needed some new ideas.
Mother seemed to ponder both of the options for a long time. Get us off her back, but sending us away to have a good time, or keep us here miserable, but annoying her in our spare time? The question was undoubtedly a tricky one, but the answer came after roughly five minutes of intense thought.
"Fine, you can go, but one word about bad behavior and you two will never see the light of day again!" She spat, and we both nodded like the perfect little angels we are.
"You won't hear a peep out of us until next summer. Probably..." I smirked, and my twin and I turned sharply on our heels and ran upstairs, out of sight.
James's P.O.V
Only around half an hour after I sent out the letter to two of my best friends, Hatchlit flew through my kitchen window and landed on the table.
Dear James,
Of course we'd love to stay over the summer! Anything to get away from our miserable lot back here.
It took a bit of convincing, but we managed to get Mother to agree to let us come, which means no sneaking out of the house for us! (As if permission was going to stop us being reunited with one more fifth of the Marauders)!
Will we be flooing to yours or will your mum and dad come and get us?
See you soon,
Trinity and Sirius
P.S: It may take a while to stop Trinity stroking your owl, but this should hopefully come pretty soon.
"Mum! They said yes!" I shouted up the stairs of Potter Manor, earning a muffled reply.
I couldn't wait for my friends to arrive, although we had only known each other for a year, the Black twins were quickly becoming more like siblings than friends.
