"Well, what are we waiting for?" Chauncey asked. "Open it."
"I did open it already." Randy nodded. "And guess what the results were?"
Randy glanced down, clutching the envelope close to him.
"Tina, the results came back negative." Randy groaned. "Marcell is not going to be a father."
"What!?" Chauncey scowled.
"See!?" Marcell growled as he stood up. "I told you!"
"You're not going to be a father for a while." Randy growled. "Officers, cuff him."
The whole time, Randy was monitoring him and Lela's conversations. Police officers stepped out from hidden places inside of the home, snatching Marcell up and handcuffing him. Lela felt her arms being yanked behind her back, looking around in confusion.
"What did I do?" Lela scowled.
"Ma'am, you are under arrest for witnessing and failing to report a crime." The policeman growled. "And sir, you are under arrest for forcible rape!"
Marcell watched as the officers read them their rights, watching them walk out with the two of them handcuffed. As they shut the door, Randy calmly took a deep breath, sliding the DNA result over to him. Like Chauncey and Tina expected, he was the father of baby Cheyenne.
"You were right, Tina." Randy nodded. "You were a hundred percent right."
Randy glanced at the ring on his right hand, sliding it off and placing it onto the table. Randy shook his head, turning to him.
"I'm gonna get the divorce papers tomorrow." Randy sighed. "Those two have hurt me in such a crass and cruel way that I can't even manage to stomach it all i-"
"Hurt you? Hurt YOU? What about me!?" Chauncey scowled. "Do you know what it's like to have your own father turn against your word, thinking that I would make up some stupid story like this? Look at my daughter! She has three fucking fingers and eyes that almost touch!"
Randy looked down at Cheyenne as she rubbed her eyes with her three fingers.
"And that's why I'm hurt. I'm hurt that they would actually manipulate me into thinking that that what true." Randy continued. "But you're correct. As a daughter, you SHOULD be hurt, upset, and enraged that I chose ANYBODY'S word over yours. And for that, I'm sorry."
Chauncey turned away, rubbing Cheyenne's back as she rested her head on Chauncey's shoulders.
"Tina, I know you may want to leave, but I would like for you to stay here so that you and Cheyenne will have a good home, shelter, and a place to be situated in." Randy sighed again. "It's not good for a baby to be moving all over the place. She should feel nice and comfortable."
Chauncey glanced at Randy, cracking a small grin and making his way upstairs.
"I'll be upstairs." Chauncey groaned.
When Chauncey got upstairs, he placed Cheyenne on the bed and started dancing around. Not proud that Tina's own cousin was the father of her child, but happy that the truth was finally out.
"Tina. Tina!" Chauncey whispered loudly as he rushed to his phone. "I've got to call Ti-"
Then, Chauncey remembered. Tina, was missing and nowhere to be found. He hasn't talked to Tina in 5 months. While he sat on the bed, he started to tear up a little as he dialed Tina's number from their home phone, just to hear her voicemail.
"It's Tink!" Tina cheered. "Leave a message. "Leave a message!"
*BEEP*
Chauncey glanced down, staring blankly at the phone.
