Erica's P.O.V.
"Alright, so guys there is a library thingy for teens looking for dancers, artists, and other talents for Artsy April night," Mr. Homes the choir teacher. "Here are the forms to sign up,"
I didn't bother grabbing one, Gabbi had already signed our entire group up for it with our songs. We originally had just one but I wrote one and she loved it. When I first played it for her she screamed she was so excited. She had told us about the Artsy April thing a few weeks ago at our last practice. After homecoming, Natasha quit the band, apparently she did dump Cooper but was jealous or some other trash like that when she saw him at the dance.
At practice Gabbi was super excited for her new bass, it was fairly nice looking and it was light color that was a natural wood. It sounded better than her last one anyway.
Cooper was messing around with his guitar in between songs trying to figure out what was off with the sound.
"Oh," he said looking at the side of his guitar "It came unplugged," he said then plugged it back in. While he was in the process of plugging it in, he knocked over his music from his music stand and sighed, "and there goes my music, and my will to live."
I started laughing, wow we really are a perfect match. I smiled, picking up his music quickly, and handing it back up to him in a nice pile, making eye contact with him and holding his gaze for maybe too long to be normal. Eh, I had nothing to lose, my dignity was lost a long time ago. Especially at the dance, gosh. I told everyone I was over what happened but still, I wasn't even mad at him, he's just awkward like me. I hated Natasha's guts though.
We practiced for maybe four hours that night, double what we usually do. Today was the first practice at the library and Angelina and Ty told Gabbi they couldn't make it so it was just Cooper, her and I. Yay. Though I guess I shouldn't be the one complaining...she is the one third wheeling. If I could even carry a conversation that is.
We practiced at the library and everything went pretty smooth, I had other acts to practice and so did Gabbi but Cooper stayed nevertheless. I kept switching glances from him and and Gabbi. Cooper well because he was wearing flannel and Gabbi says he looks like a beardless lumberjack but I say he looks f-i-n-e. Gabbi, as well as Amberly was in charge while she was there, as Bradley was in most the acts and was her boyfriend he was too but, the three of them seemed to be up to something...it made me uncomfortable.
All the acts were done now and Gabbi was discussing plans for our next practice at the auditorium I nodded at the date and time taking mental note of them.
"Can two of you help take this piano downstairs?" Amberly asked and Gabbi's phone rang. She answered it leaving Cooper and I. I nodded and grabbed one end of the keys while he grabbed the other we walked down the stairs and he was on the bottom handling most the weight when the door slammed shut behind me and I heard the click of a lock. My hands flew in the air in shock, forgetting I was holding something-it was nearly automatic. The piano fell down the steps.
Crap.
"COOPER!"
