~ Chip and Dale xoxo

It must have been an hour or so since we’d first come in. My body felt absolutely exhausted but my hyperactive brain refused to let me sleep. As soon as I shut my eyes, I found myself snapping them open again straight away. I think it was just being somewhere unfamiliar. Probably also because my mind was still having trouble getting my thoughts around what had happened this evening (or was it yesterday now?). I mean, it’s not exactly normal to meet up with one of the biggest international boy bands. Sleepily I sat up, there was no point trying to pretend to be asleep any longer. Maybe they had some good movies on that big TV of theirs. As I sat up I noticed a bright and slightly flickering light seeping in round the archway between the double rooms to the main section of the suite. Curious, I stood up carefully wrapped in my blankets and began to tiptoe towards the arch. Whenever it got dark, my imagination decided to go wild. I created a whole manner of scenes which made me doubt my actions more and more with each step until, when I reached the archway, I only had the courage to slowly peek my head around the corner.

What I saw was nothing like an alien abducting my best friend or a vampire having a disco. Instead it was just Louis staring intently at the large TV with a Wii console in hand. I quickly looked back into my half of the room and noticed the couch where he had ‘gone to sleep’ was in fact empty. Again I peeked back around to look at him and smiled slightly, he looked so young. He had his tongue stuck out to the side of his mouth as he concentrated on the game. It was cute. I smiled and walked over towards him. He gave a start on seeing me but visibly relaxed when he realized it was just little old me.

“Ha, made you jump!” I said faking enthusiasm.

“Hey! I thought you were sleeping?” He grinned and patted a space on the sofa beside him. I waddled over in my bundle of sheets and flopped down onto the end opposite him, curling my feet underneath me to not take up to much space. I looked up at the screen, Mario Kart was on with Louis as Yoshi… and he was in last place.

“You’re really bad at this game.” I stated, ignoring his question. He pretended to look offended as he sank back into the sofa.

“Excuse me, but I happen to be a professional at this game. Thank you very much!”

“Yeah; a professional at coming last.” I said with a yawn and saw him frown.

“I thought you said you couldn’t sleep.”

“Yeah, I couldn’t. So now I’m tired.” He laughed quietly, shaking his head slightly.

“Here,” he said pulling my feet out from under me till I was stretched out across the sofa with my feet on top of his lap.

“Better?” he asked, patting my feet. I nodded as I let loose another yawn. My mind was wide awake but the rest of me felt bone tired.

“OK. I’m gonna keep playing and you can slowly fall asleep in my gracious company.”

“You’re,” short yawn, “weird. Try to win this time.”

“What did you think I was doing before?”

“Failing”

“No, before that?”

“Failing . . . miserably.”
