Sorry for not posting in a while but i've been a little busy. and distracted :P anyways here we go!

So there I was, in a makeshift barricade, out the front of the Barracks, looking upon the most horrific sight I'd seen in all my life. Bunstone, the town I'd spent my whole life in, walking the streets, looking upon the buildings and falling in love with the land, that same town, streets, buildings, land, now stretched before me as a burning, smoldering, wreck. Among the burning fields i noticed something. Movement, not Humans, it was some kind of creature, it crawled at alarmingly fast speeds. They had 4 legs with and ant like body, two arms that looked more like they came off a man than anything else on the creature and a very ant like head, pincers and all. The creature would be at least one and a half average sized adults in height or one UR solider.

"Take aim! Don't let any of these things get into the Barracks!" Shouted Blackburn, trying to bring order to the rest of us. The creatures started advancing toward the Barracks, all the UR soldiers instantly snapped the rifles forward, trained on almost every creature in sight. Taking the lead of the soldiers I moved the rifle to my face and trained the sights on one of the crawlers.

"Hold!" Yelled Blackburn as some of the frightened villagers fired at the creatures.

"Hold!!" The creatures were getting closer to the barriers now.

"HOLD!" The creatures were almost upon us now and even I was getting worried.

"FIRE!"

And with that word the courtyard exploded, light, sound, smell. I fired my own rifle at the creature i was aiming at it erupted with a greenish liquid i assumed was it's blood collapsed over itself and lay there, still. Before i could even think of what I'd just done, another creature had sprung up in the one's place. And for at least 3 hours, that was the cycle of things, other than a couple of close calls when one got the drop on me whilst I was reloading, nothing really changed and I became almost numb.

Then in happened. after almost 3 hours of endless waves of crawlers, suddenly they stopped. No movement. Not a sound.

"Where'd they go?" asked someone behind me.

"No one slack off! Keep on guard! It could be a trick!" Commanded Blackburn."Is everyone ok?" There was many murmured replies. "OK good! Check weapons! Be rea-"

At that moment there was a cry, a blood curdling stomach clenching roar and chilled everyone, even the hardened UR soldiers, to the core.

Something then mounted the hill. Another creature. Twice the size of a UR soldier and almost human like wearing a mask with massive arms, and legs that looked like they could jump 40 metres high, it had zig zagged legs, with two knees going different directions with clawed feet. but nothing paralysed me more, then the realization that this creature was exactly like the ones i saw in my dream, the ones that surrounded my fathers body.

The creature let out another howl, and a dozen crawlers appeared behind it. It made another noise, not as loud as the others, and with that the crawlers charged forward.

I took aim and killed one of the advancing crawlers and managed to get a glimpse of the thing slowly advancing through the charging crawlers. Just then another crawler appeared and i lost sight of it.

Suddenly it burst through the crawlers and started shooting, just shooting everything, I ducked into cover but all i could hear was screams of people, of the villages, of my friends. Laura appeared next to me, I don't know how, maybe she'd been there the whole time? i don't know. She started yelling at me, pulling at my arm. I heard snippets of what she was saying, Barracks, safe, get back. Blackburn must've wanted us to retreat. She suddenly stopped, she grabbed at her leg and i noticed it was bleeding and she must've been hit, she wouldn't make it back to the Barracks without help.
