I'm sorry again everyone :( I have no excuse! D: i just haven't wanted to write lately... I want to finish this book though!!!

We all moved pretty quickly to pack everything up but it sill took almost all day. We we're a little more than half-way through when one of the people who were guarding the front door burst through the door.

"Sir!! There's an enemy cruiser moving into position above the barracks!"

"I knew this would happen... Alright everyone! Double time it! Dean! your with me, lets go take a look at this Cruiser."

We finally got through the twisted maze of the Barracks and into the mess that was the courtyard. Gladly most of the bodies have been cleared away, the aliens have been heaped into a pile off to the side and the bodies of the others had been laid inside with covers over them, some had even been hastily buried by their friends and family and still lived.

But I barely noticed any of that, my attention was focused completely on the sky above. For above the courtyard, almost blotting out the sky, was a huge, dark, menacing, outline of a spaceship. It was the biggest thing I'd every seen in my life. It was more then double the size of the surrounding landscape. From the shadow, I could see it was porcupine'd with what must have been guns. The ship itself was a weird blocky shape, it was almost like someone had made it out of Lego.

"I knew it." Muttered Blackburn

"Knew what?" I asked, though i don't think he wanted anyone to hear him say that.

"Alright everyone!" Yelled Blackburn, Ignoring my question. "Back inside, Its time to get out of here. Move!"

The next ten minutes consisted of moving weapons, supplies and people out of the barracks, all the while the ship floated ever closer above our heads. Once we'd gotten everything out Blackburn gathered us around.

"OK everyone, we need to get out of here now, very quickly. Now we'll move west, toward Glissro City, hopefully someones still alive out there, we'll leave immediately."

"Wait!" I yelled as Blackburn began to move off. "Sergeant Blackburn! What about my family? They never came in last night, I have to know if their OK."

He moved in close to me so only i could hear what he had to say. "Dean, I'm sorry, I cant let you go. You saw the amount of creatures that came from the direction of your family farm. there's no wa-. Dean. Your family, I'm afraid is dead."

A deep sorrow awoke in me then, I realisation that the, indeed, a lot of creatures came from the direction of my farm. But i couldn't just accept it. I couldn't just accept that my family is dead without knowing it. So i picked up a rifle and ran. I ran as fast as i could. I could hear them calling for me, but i didn't care. I kept running and running, through the ruins of the town and out onto the road out to the farmland. after a while of running i began to slow down, it was only then that i heard the sound of a second pair of feet. I immediately swing around, rifle at shoulder. Then I realised who it was.

"Hey hey hey! its just me!" Said Laura raising her hands.

"Sorry, I only just heard your footsteps, thought you might have been one of them." I said dejectedly. "How long have you been there?"

"I've been right behind you the whole time, a few others followed you but they gave up before long. Come on, lets go."

So we jogged on, I had so many things going through my mind, My family, the attack, Laura. But my main concern right now had to be my family, everything else had to be pushed aside until i knew what happened to them. We were about were about to round the cornor and come into view of the farm, I had to prepare myself for anything. But nothing could prepare me for what i saw.
