The next morning, the Winchester grunted as he tried to turn his alarm off without moving his head off of his pillow. He remembered to set an alarm so he wouldn't sleep through the day. Dean could hear his boyfriend in the shower already. He got up and went to the kitchen to get breakfast. While grabbing an orange, the sandy haired boy peered out the window, watching the sky with curious, emerald green eyes. Gentle, dark gray clouds danced and streaked across the sky. Dean liked gray skies. He rarely saw one anymore. Making his way to the porch, he sat down on a chair and sighed, breathing in the smell of rain. He had everything he needed right in this moment. The Winchester closed his eyes and studied the feeling of contentment. He rarely got it anymore. He studied the soft wind and the sounds of nature, aware of his surroundings. He studied the gentle buzz of an insect passing by, trying to soak in every little detail. A strange coldness covered a small area on Dean's arm. Then another one occurred on his foot. The boy opened his eyes and noticed rain drops running down his limbs. It wasn't heavy rain, but it was something. Dean bolted inside to his room. Cas was putting on a navy blue shirt and gray sweatpants. After a few minutes, Dean came back out, dragging Cas by his wrist, ignoring the Singer's complaints.
"Trust me, it's worth it." Dean spoke softly. Cas pouted and dragged himself along with the help of Dean. Dean opened the front door and watched the dark haired boy's eyes light up as if someone flicked a switch in him. Cas jogged outside and stood in the driveway of the cabin. He threw his head back to catch drops on his tongue. Dean ran out and swooped Cas up as the dark haired boy screeched. The Winchester spun Cas around, holding him at his waist as the rain poured harder on them. Dean could feel Cas laughing in his arms. The boys called Charlie out. She saw the rain and ran back inside. She knew just what to do. A moment later, she came out with a speaker in her hands. The redhead put on Thunder Island and the trio began their daily dance session. The two teens felt pure ecstasy when they heard the familiar tune blasting over the commotion of the weather and emotions pounding down on them. Dean gingerly put Cas down, swiping strands of dark hair out of the boy's face. Dean froze. The Winchester felt his eyes grow moist as he noticed something different. Cas. Past the shield, hate, sorrow, and pain of his past, he saw something he'd never seen before. Joy.
He lost sense of time, embracing the happiness he saw in Castiel's eyes. The strands of blue, white, and brown in his eyes told a different story than Dean had ever read before. The taller boy cupped Cas' face in his warm, comforting hands. Through the tears and rain water running down his face, he leaned in to connect their lips. Dean hesitated for a second and pulled back slightly. He was unsure he could ever close his eyes when Cas was like this. Dean needed the taste of Cas more than ever, but he was frozen in thought. Luckily, Cas pulled Dean in and their lips crashed together with the feeling of waves hitting the shore on a foggy day. The lyrics and thoughts of Cas swayed through the taller boys head.

A summer's day, laughing and a-hidin'

Chasing love, out on Thunder Island

Cas put his hands around Dean's neck. The two boys kissed through earth-shattering grins. Unaware of being filmed by Charlie, the boys were locked in to each other. Nobody wanted anything more than this.
"I swear, my life is a movie right now." Dean whispered almost into Cas' mouth.
"What do you mean?" Cas asked quietly.
"I mean this doesn't just happen in reality. Life isn't this fucking good." Dean smiled. Cas replied with a strange grunt.
Charlie could sense the emotions her phone was capturing with ease. Cas pulled away, deciding that dancing would make this moment even better. The boys danced their hearts out, singing along to the lyrics. Charlie ended the video to go dance. Dean didn't know which way was up because his head was flying everywhere. He sat down for a second, his head soaked and his brain spinning. Cas plopped down next to him, watching the rain fall. Usually, he would be scared to get water in his eyes, but the Singer had his eyes wide open. He was fearless next to Dean.
"Dean?" Cas asked.
"Yeah?" Dean replied.
"Why did you start crying when you looked at me?" Dean sighed, not knowing whether to tell the harsh truth or a comforting lie.
"Cas, I saw it in your eyes. Happiness. Freedom."
"And you've never seen it before today?"
Dean nodded in response.
"Huh. I guess I didn't realize I was that easy to see through."
"I'm just good at reading people." The teens watched the rain come down on them. Dean could feel his blood pumping and his heart beating through his chest. They sat there in silence, the rain washing over them, but not quite making them forget that moment of a lifetime.
