"Any word on Becky?" Dean asked his dad.
"Actually, her parents cleaned out her room and they donated everything. It's just our luck that the object she attached herself to could be anywhere in this town."
"Can you take this case? I'm pretty busy this week." Dean said, fighting the blush running up how face.
"Sure. I'll take care of it." John thought nothing of Dean's comment.
"Thanks. I'm going to go get dinner."
"Be back before 8, Sam's hungry." The eldest Winchester dismissed Dean and went back to reading his magazine. Dean walked out and got in the Impala. He drove to Taco Bell. On his way out of the restaurant, he saw a familiar mop of hair when he walked past the Singer's auto shop.
"Cas, hey Cas!" Cas didn't reply, he was blasting music through his earbuds and reading Casa De Amour III. Dean could hear the song playing. The Winchester tapped Cas on the shoulder. Cas gasped and turned around swiftly.
"Love me some CCR." Dean said.
"You listen to CCR?"
"Of course, I'm a human being."
Cas could see Dean's eyes light up when he talked about music. The teens bonded over all of their favorite music.
"We have so much more in common then meets the eye." Cas licked his lips and stared at Dean.
Dean asked, "So, why are you here at this time of night?"
"My grandpas own the shop. I'm going on a camping trip with Charlie in a few days, so I thought I would pick up some extra shifts."
"Sounds like fun, where are you and Charlie going?"
"By Caddo Lake. We're staying in a cabin." Cas suddenly got an idea.
"Maybe you could come with us. It would be so fun!" Cas offered.
"I can't pass up on an offer like that. Spending a few days with an angel and a red head. Nice. Let's work out the details later. Here's my number." After winking, Dean picked a pen up off the counter and scribbled his number on Cas' arm, over old scars.
"Well, I better get going, you know how my dad is." Dean rolled his eyes. There was a moment of silence and staring. Cas focused on Dean's rusty, brown-green eyes. Cas noticed Dean's eyes change color depending on his mood. Bright green streaked with honey brown when he was calm, emerald green when he was mad, and hazel when he was nervous.
"Yeah. See you later, Dean." Cas broke the tension between the two. Now they were just running from the inevitable.
Dean nodded and was about to walk out when Cas got the courage to stand up and say, "Let me walk you home. It's getting dark out."
Dean, forgetting about the Impala, agreed, and Cas locked up the shop early. They walked in silence, sometimes making small talk. Dean stopped abruptly. God, if only both teens knew they wanted each other. Dean focused on Cas' breathing and his brain drifted away into thought watching the foggy breath rise from Cas' lips and disappear into the sky.
"Dean? Why'd you stop?" Cas questioned.
"Oh, sorry I got lost in thought." Cas was trying so hard to not stare at the perfect human in front of him.
"Fuck it. Life goes on." Cas mumbled quietly so only he could hear.
The shorter teen pulled Dean in close and kissed him hard. After a few seconds, Dean pulled away. He looked confused.
Horror filled Cas' eyes. The Winchester didn't like Cas.
"Oh, Dean I'm sorry! I just thought tha-" Dean cut the other boy off by pulling him in again. Yep, these boys were inseparable. Undefeatable. Their tongues brushed lightly against each other as the butterscotch candy Dean had been sucking on found its way into Cas' mouth. The steamy makeout session didn't end. Nobody wanted it to. The two teens were in heaven. Cas was right. Deans lips tasted like peppermint, but it was even better than the shorter teen could dream of. After what seemed like forever but was probably only five minutes or so, a car sped around the block, causing the boys to break away.
"Cas, I had no idea y-" Dean was cut off by yet another long, passionate kiss. Dean caressed Cas' wind-bitten cheeks softly and planted kisses along the shorter teen's jaw. The Winchester pulled at Cas' thick, dark hair and nipped at Cas' ear. The shorter boy moaned. Dean had the strangest sensation rising in his gut. He had never felt this way kissing anyone. Not even Lisa, his ex from back in Michigan. Cas pulled away for a breath, and Dean stole a glance at his watch.
"Shit, it's 8:15! I gotta go! I'll see ya later, Cas!" Cas nodded. He remembered the butterscotch candy and took it out of his mouth.
"Hey, you can't forget this!" Cas joked and handed the sweet candy to Dean. The taller teen popped the candy into his mouth and said, "Thanks, Angel." Dean laughed. Cas watched with wide eyes as the hottest guy he'd ever met just wiped his raw, puffy lips, winked, then ran off. The dark haired boy struggled to remember the feeling of Dean's lips on his own. He walked home all the way with a grin on his face and a skip in his step.
