It was a regular day at school. I was late as usual and I was rushing to get to class. As I slammed my locker shut and started to run, I ran straight into someone and landed on the floor. "Shit, I'm sorry." A deep American voice said. I looked up and saw the most attractive boy I'd ever seen in my entire life. After what felt like minutes of staring at the boy, I eventually got the words 'it's okay' out of my mouth. The boy bent down and started to pick my books up. I got up and smiled at him, thanking him for picking up my books.

"I'm Jonathan. And I'm kind of lost." He chuckled.

"Oh," I laughed, "I'm Xanthe."

"Cute name." He smiled a toothy grin.

"Thanks, I got it for my birthday." I said, rolling my eyes at my corny joke.

"Aha, good one. Anyway, are you able to tell me where room C13 is? I've been walking around the school for ten minutes trying to find it."

"Wait," I smiled, "my class is in C13. There must be a room change."

"Well, I'm new and in 8M2 if that helps." Jonathan said.

"No way."

"What?" Jonathan chuckled.

"I'm in 8M2. Here, I'll take you to class." I said and Jonathan smiled.

We walked into class, about 10 minutes late and our teacher scolded us. "Be on time next class or detention." She said, eyeing both of us until we sat down.

"I'm sorry, Miss. I was helping Jonathan get to class. He's new and didn't know where to go." I smiled convincingly, trying to make her forget our lateness.

"Okay, but don't let it happen again." She said. "Now, Jonathan, is this your first day?"

"Um, yeah it is." He said and everyone in the room gasped.

"Oh my god, he's American." A girl said from the back of the room.

"Yep, I'm American." Jonathan said, turning around to face the girl that said that.

"Jonathan, would you be comfortable sharing maybe.... three facts about yourself to the class?" Our teacher asked kindly, which was strange because she was usually a cranky old witch.

"Yeah, sure." Jonathan stood up and faced the class. "Well, hi class. I'm Jonathan and my three facts are that I used to do acting back in America and I was the lead role in two of my movies," Jonathan chuckled and thought about some other facts, "Hmm, I like sport. My favourites are tennis and soccer. And my favourite subject is English."

"Thank you, Jonathan." Our teacher said as Jonathan sat down. "Now everyone get back to writing up your experiments. Jonathan you can work with Xanthe's group since you weren't here for the experiment and since you two seem to get on well."

As soon as my teacher said that, my best friends, Omara and Alicia, whistled and winked at Jonathan and I. I punched them lightly and Jonathan just laughed.

As the recess bell went, I threw my books in my locker and went to go look for my best friend, Charlise. As soon as I found her, I screamed and ran up to her.

"Oh my fucking god, guess what." I said quickly.

"What?" She laughed.

"The cutest guy ever is in my class and I'm already kind of friends with him." I said, jumping up and down excitedly.

"Oh my god, you have to introduce him to me." Charlise said and I immediately nodded.

We were looking for Jonathan for a couple minutes until we found him, anxiously waiting at my locker. I noticed his nervousness and ran up to him quickly. Charlise followed.

"Yo, Jonathan." I said walking up next to him, leaning on my locker.

"Hey, Xanthe. I've been waiting for you." He awkwardly laughed, scratching the back of his neck.

"Oh, geez. I'm sorry. How long were you waiting?" I asked feeling guilty.

"Oh, not long. I was just gonna ask if I could hang out with you and Alicia and Omara and whoever that is." He laughed, motioning over to Charlise.

"Oh, right. This is-"

"I'm Charlise." She interrupted.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Jonathan." He smiled with his usual grin.

"Nice to meet you too." Charlise said and looked at me with an excited expression.

"We'll just be a minute." Charlise said and grabbed me, pulling me away from Jonathan.

"Oh my fucking god, I know you said he was hot, but damn, I didn't think he was this hot. And American!" She whisper-shouted.

"I know, I know. Anyway, he's just a friend, but if anything happens, I found him first, not you." I giggled.

"Yeah, whatever. I have my eyes on someone else." Charlise smirked as we started walking over to Jonathan.

"Charlise, you do know that Jack is like 5 years older than you? Not to mention that he's famous and has no idea who you are... no offence." I sighed.

"Yeah, but just you wait until I visit America and marry him." She said, dancing around like a woman on her wedding day.

"America?" Jonathan peeked into the conversation.

"Yeah, I plan to go there and meet my husband, Jack Dail." Charlise laughed.

"Anyway," I tried to change the subject, "let's go find Alicia and Omara."

Chapter Two will be out soon.
