Chapter 18: A wildfire of Rumors

Star's POV

I wake up happily, I remember last night. It was amazing.

I get ready for school and y'know the rest of those stuff right?

As me and Marco sit inside the bus, it got a little awkward.

"How was your date?" He broke the silence.
"It was... the best date I've ever been in" He smiled.

"So you two are together now?" He plastered a fake smile, I know he's faking it.

"What? Where did you get that idea?" I rolled my eyes at him. He took out his phone and showed me a picture.

"From this" he said coldly and there I saw a picture of me and Daniel which seemed like we were kissing

"What?! We never kissed!- but most importantly, did you take this picture?!" I was pissed.

We get off the bus and start walking to class

"Pucker up princess! Hahahahhahahaha" Brittney teased. I was embarassed. I wanted to cry. "What? No I-"

"Are you and Daniel dating?"

"Star Roberts sounds like a nice name!"

"#Staniel!!!!!"

"I SHIP IT MORE THAN STARCO!"

"You guys are totally dating"

"Omg is he a good kisser?"

Questions from left to right! I'm sick of this!

"HEY! LEAVE STAR ALONE!" I turn to see Marco taking off his hoodie, and covering me with it. "So what if they're dating! Why don't you get your own lives instead of gossiping about other people's lives?!" He shouted once more.

"Oooooooooooooooo!!!" a crowd shouted

"SAFE KID IS J-E-ALOUS!" one guy randomly shouted, I look up to see Marco flustered.

"What's wrong with helping a friend from a bunch of retards like you guys!?" He led me into somewhere we were alone.

He let me cry on his shoulder "Marco... I didn't kiss him I swear! It was just the angle, he was blowing on my eye because I had something in it, please believe me, I'm being hon-"

"Shhh Star it's okay, I believe you" He hugged tighter and even closer to him. I just cried. "Do you want to report this as bullying?" Marco asked me, I nodded in response. "W-what if my parents see this? I'll be sent to Olga's if they would!- I might never see you again! I don't want that to happen Marco, I don't want to leave you" I hugged him even tighter and sobbed.

"I'll try to get Principal Skeeves delete the photo, until then, make sure you're with me the whole day. I don't want you to get teased, and if you were teased, just tell me.. I'll fight for you" He smiled. "No I don't want you to get in trouble, please don't" I pulled away and held his face.

"Fine, I won't" he sighed, I smiled "But I'll make sure whoever did this will pay... the safe wayof course" He said as he wiped my tears away.

"Marco... thanks for always being here for me" I smiled "It's what friends for right?" I nodded. "Yeah... friends".

Friends... nothing more. Nothing less.

We head to class, I still have Marco's hoodie. Unfortuantely, we still didn't know who spread the picture and the rumor that me and Daniel were kissing/dating. Daniel wasn't around. He texted me and said he had to take care of some....stuff.

But luckily, the photo was deleted. Permanently. Which made me satisfied.. but not that much. I still need to know who took that photo.

Marco's POV

Star's "scandal" was finally deleted, but we still don't know who spread it. This bothered Star, and it made me so worried.

When we got home, I made Star my nachos, she loved it and it made her happy.. which made me happy.

We're at the rooftop just talking, watching the sunset, the view was breathtaking. It was beautiful... just like her.

Just being with her completes my day, I don't what I would do without her. When we're together, it's like no words are needed. We talk in silence, and that's enough for me. A few stares here and there, it's like we're reading each other's mind, knowing what the other's thinking about is the same as your thoughts.

This girl.

Is everything to me, and I'll never let her go.

If I only had the guts to shout it to the world, I would. But being the coward I am, I can't.

Her golden locks
Her eccentric blue eyes
Her cute hearts on her cheeks
Her horn headband
Her smile
Her personality

These are the little things that made me fall for her. Little things that might hurt me like mere paper cuts.
