Knock knock"Come in." I heard a muffled voice call from the other side of the door. I pushed past the door and slowly stepped in. When I looked up, 8 pairs of eyes were on me. Already, I was feeling uncomfortable and my eyebrows furrowed into a frown.
"Ah, Sia you came. Boys, this is Agent Sia, who is also my niece. Sia, meet rest of the members. Now, the 8 of you will be placed in the Alpha Team, called BTS. I'm sure you've read all about it in the folders that I've given you." Uncle Jax affirmed, and several heads nodded in agreement.
"Very well. For now, I'm going to put you guys through training to test your abilities and assess your strengths and weaknesses. It'll also give you time to bond and connect as teammates. Does anybody have questions?" he continued, making eye contact with everyone in the room.
A boy with bunny teeth and beefy arms and thighs shyly raised his hand. He looks like a bunny on steroids... what did they feed this guy?
"Yes, Jungkook?" Uncle Jax beamed, smiling at the young boy.
"When will we be given a case to work on?" he asked, lowering his arm.
"That will come later on, after you guys are comfortable around each other enough to trust them completely." Uncle Jax answered, and the cute muscular bunny- I mean Jungkook- nodded in understanding.
"Now if you'll follow me, I'll lead you to our training room. It's split into weapons cargo, strategic thinking test room, stimulation center, and detonation control center." he continued, walking towards the place I knew so well.
"Detonation control center?" a guy with dark brunette hair and rectangle smile asked, cocking his head to the side in confusion.
"Yes Taehyung. Detonation as in KABOOM. Got it?" Uncle Jax replied with a small sly smile on his lips.
"Sweeeet" the boy responded, popping in a lollipop in his mouth.
What a kid, I thought.
Uncle Jax opened the door to the training room, which led to a very spacious room filled with weapons and computers. The boys let out words of amazement as their eyes roamed around the place. It was nothing new to me, since I had basically grown up in this very room. To me, it was like a second home.
Suddenly, a pretty lady popped up in front of us. "Hello~ welcome to the training room! My name is Rachel and I'm the coordinator for the artillery section. I will be overlooking your special training." she chirped, and she winked at me. I winked back and grinned. I've known Rachel for as long as I can remember; although she was closer to Uncle Jax in age, she took very well care of me and I considered her a friend. It was her that taught me how to fight.
She let us pick a gun of our choice and led us to the target range. We all lined up side by side and faced the targets. I practiced aiming at the mark with the safety on. I heard snickering beside me and I turned around to the sound, annoyed.
"Hey babe, you think you can handle that thing? Do you want daddy to teach you?" Taehyung called out, wiggling his eyebrows at me. His friends let out muffled laughter and playfully shoved each other to shut up.
I rolled my eyes and aimed my gun at his head and cocked the safety off. Suddenly, all laughter died in an instant. Taehyung gulped loudly and stared straight into the barrel.
Still making eye contact with him, I swung my arm back towards the target without turning my head and tightly grasped the gun in one hand. I fired three times and watched the boys' eyes widen as the bullets pierced through the bull's eye shot after another. I lowered the gun and smirked at him.
"Sorry, I don't date boys. I only date men. Oh and I don't think I need any help from you." I walked away from them as I heard Uncle Jax chuckle.
I eventually ended up at the knife and hand-to-hand combat training room. I plugged my earbuds in and clicked on my workout playlist. Then I took two small knives that fit perfectly into my palms and started practicing.
Left, right, dodge, lean, kick, sweep, and back to defensive position.
These movements were engraved into my memories as I spent countless hours practicing them with Rachel. Beads of sweat began to form and I hastily wiped my forehead with my sleeve. I took a deep breath and repeated the procedure again.
I was so focused on training that I didn't notice a pair of eyes staring at me until that person waved their hands in the air to get my attention. Breathing harshly, I walked over to him and took my earbuds out.
"Can I help you?" I asked, kind of annoyed that he interrupted my practice time.
He didn't notice my sarcasm and smiled back happily, flashing those adorable bunny teeth again. "I saw you working hard, so I thought I'd get you a towel and a bottle of water." Jungkook explained, as he held up the said items.
My eyes scrutinized him as I accepted the towel. I muttered a thanks and turned away to wipe my sweat away. I opened the cap on the water bottle and was about to take a drink when he asked me, "Can you teach me how to fight? Like what you did earlier?" with his big innocent eyes staring back at me.
I stared back at him as I took a long drink from the bottle, using the time to contemplate about the request.
After few seconds of hesitation, I nodded slightly once to let him know I accepted. His face broke into a big smile and I couldn't help but grin along with him.
I motioned for him to come inside the ring with me and started teaching him the basics of making a fist and punching the air straight. We practiced for hours late into the night, as the stars lighted the black velvety night.
