I stayed in the bathroom a few more minutes to calm my breathing down and try to analyze what exactly had happened with Jungkook. If it's not because he's jealous that he lost a partner, could it be that he...?
Nah it couldn't be. Just snap out of it and focus on the mission Sia. I thought to myself as I shook my head and made my way out of the bathroom.
By the time I made it back to the cafeteria, it was almost empty except for a few people that were still filing out. Jungkook was nowhere to be seen either. Letting out a sigh, I went back out the door and headed towards my next class. Throughout the whole lecture, I couldn't focus on anything since there were so many thoughts swimming in my head. Our case had gotten some kind of lead but we can't do anything until we find those thugs up on the roof again and confront them. Woozi had gotten hurt because he helped us when he didn't need to. Jungkook was acting unlike himself lately and I refused to acknowledge the reason why. I just wanted the old fluffy Jungkook back. But at this point, I couldn't see it happening any time soon.
When I snapped out of my daze, I was already sitting in my calculus class with Woozi waving his hand above my eyes.
"Hey you okay?" Woozi asked with a concerned look. He had multiple band-aids plastered to his face, and my heart hurt because it was my fault that he got hurt in the first place.
I nodded weakly and pointed to his injuries. "I'm okay but how about you? You holding up okay?"
He grinned till his eyes were just thin crescents and nodded enthusiastically. "I'm great! The cuts hurt a little, but it's not a biggie. I'm a man, I can take it." he said as he puffed out his chest.
I ruffled his hair as I smiled back at him. He was just so cute, I couldn't help it. "Yeah, yeah. You're the man, Woozi." I told him.
He swatted my hand away and quickly tried to fix his hair. "But are YOU okay? You seem like you're kinda out of it, your RBF was pretty bad when you walked in." he whispered to me in a serious tone as the professor started the lecture.
I sighed and looked at the board. "Yeah I guess... I just have so many thoughts in my head and none of them are making sense."
Woozi turned his head towards my direction and looked at me directly in my eyes. "Does it have to do anything with the secret mission?" he asked in a low, quiet voice. I quickly looked around the classroom before deciding it was safe enough to talk.
I nodded once to confirm his question. "That's a part of it. We have gotten some leads on how to complete this case, but I'm at a loss at how to go about it. There are too many things at stake and you also got hurt because of us. I can't risk hurting anybody else." I murmured as I looked out the window.
He let out a long exhale after listening to everything that I've said. "To be honest with you, I'm still having a hard time accepting the whole secret mission and spy thing. I don't even know what's going on! But I can promise you that you can trust me and I will help out in any way that I can." he offered a small smile as he held out his hand for me to shake.
I looked at his hand for a second before looking away. "Sorry Woozi. I know that you're a good guy and I really am thankful for you helping us out before, but like I said, we can't risk you getting hurt even more because of our mission. This is our job, not yours."
He frowned and lowered his hand. "I'm not telling you this so you'd feel guilty. I'm offering to help because I consider you a friend. Isn't that what friends do?" he asked, slightly cocking his head to the side.
I stared at him long and hard, contemplating his words. There were definitely some confidentiality problems involved since he isn't an agent, but we do need his help since he's the only connection to the upperclassmen that we have. Uncle Kaos might disapprove of me involving an innocent individual into our mission without consulting him first, but I just decided to give it a chance and see how it turns out.
My internal argument went on for few more seconds before I decided f*** it, let's just go for it. I pulled our chairs a bit closer and leaned towards each other before filling Woozi in on the mission.
