Chapter Twenty-Four:: Stand and Fight

        LMAO, I know a lot of you guys don't read my little author notes at the end, but I just want to say something; this fan fiction will be coming to its end, hopefully by the end of this month. I won't say anymore, because I want you guys to enjoy what little time we have left! BTW, please don't hurt me! BTW, this was entered into the Fairy Tail Watty Awards! Please go vote!

        "What do you mean you're not her mother!" Natsu sneered as he held onto a close to unconscious Lucy, while keeping himself from barely falling over himself.

        "It means exactly what it means."

        "Hey! Keep her awake!" Sting growled, as he ran over. He took his younger sister out of Natsu's weak, but unwilling-to-let-go hands and immediately set about to trying to wake her up.

        "What the hell is going on?!" Natsu shouted, getting frustrated with everyone here, excluding Lucy.

        Lucy's fake mom, looked Natsu in the eye, not emotion whatsoever. "I can't give you the full story exactly, because we're running out of time. But long story short; I'm not from this universe. There are many parallel universes. However, right now, there are only three main ones that we should pay attention to. This one, another one, that doesn't really have a name, but we call it Fiore, and there's Edolas. I'm from Edolas. In Edolas, I'm Lucy's mother, which would explain a lot. And for some reason, I was dragged into this one a long time ago. As the one from Fiore, but she died."

        Natsu pitched a glance over to his blonde friend who was slowly coming to, then looked back at her. "I don't really understand any of this, but here's something I want to know; is Lucy's mom still alive?"

        Edo-Layla froze at the question, apparently really uncomfortable with it. She started to wring her hands and look other places to make it look like she was thinking, but it was obvious to all that she was just buying time. And perhaps building up the courage to say whatever the answer was. They all realized that what she was going to say was just going to make them even more depressed.

        By the time she was ready, Lucy was back to consciousness and was sitting up, but barely. Sting had apparently updated her on the situation as well. So now, all eyes were on Edo-Layla, whom they were still waiting on an explanation for the apparent death of their mom.

        Clearing her throat, she started. "Well . . . She - "

        Her highly anticipated answer was quickly cut off by a loud siren. Everyone looked at each other, panicked. What the hell was going on? Did they realize that Lucy and Natsu had escaped?

        "We need to leave. Now."

        Everyone's heads snapped back to Layla, with a 'yeah, no shit sherlock' look on their faces. She raised her arms up in defense and there were some nervous snickers that didn't even sound close to real. Lucy rolled her eyes and she quickly got up. She wasn't hurt too badly and her head was a little bit more clear. At least she was in a lot better shape than Natsu.

        "This way! It's the quickest way out!" Rogue yelled and started to lead the way.

        They continued on through the seemingly huge corridors and hallways that looked like they could go on forever. And maybe they did. But, they would never know. Especially because of what happened next.

        First there were sounds of yelling and shouting. They were coming from somewhere above them, indicating that they were currently underground.
