Chapter 4: Love At Last

With the weights lifted and the tears stopped, (Y/N) went to go fix her makeup leaving Kazuichi alone in her room. He looks around but stops when his eyes land on an old photo of the two at an amusement park. He smile remembering how excited (Y/N) was to go on all the rides, but then remembered he was terrified and sick the whole day.

"Enthralled with every type of engine but gets too sick while in motion." (Y/N) walks up behind him all fixed up.

He turns and chuckles, "Yeah Yeah I know." He looks her up and down. "Y-You are absolutely beautiful."

"Thanks, your not too bad yourself." She reaches and fixes his tie.

He blushes, "I feel like I should have flowers for you or something like that." He moves his hand to her face and tucks a strand of (H/C) hair behind her ear.

"It's alright. I'm just happy to be with you tonight." She takes his hand. "You ready?"

"Of course my lady."

They walk downstairs, but are stopped by (Y/N's) mother. "Wait! I want photos before you go!" Kazuichi smiles and they walk over for photos.

"Don't take too long mother."
"I won't! Just a couple."

~~~~TIME SKIP

After what felt like thousands of photos later, (Y/N) and Kazuichi had arrived at prom. The theme was 'Happily Ever After'. As they walked in they were stopped at a decorative arch because the leader of the yearbook staff wanted a photo of them. Once all the photos were finally over they walked off to the side of the dance floor as other students danced.

"Would you like to join them?"

"I don't want to dance if you don't want to."
He smirks, "But tonight I do." He starts dancing clumsily but has a good time. (Y/N) giggles and joins in having fun.

"You're not that bad Kazu!"

"Okay so maybe I've been practicing in the mirror!" He laughs. They dance for a while not caring how they look to others. Or how John and his new girl are judging the two from a distance. Eventually a slow song plays.

"May I have this dance?" Kazuichi takes her hand and they dance together. At that moment all they could see was each other. All that mattered was being in each other's arms. Kazuichi had never been happier and (Y/N) for once in love with someone she really cared about..

"You really are beautiful (Nickname)."

"Why didn't you ask me before...to date..."
"I didn't want to risk ruining our friendship, but now, it just felt like the right time. Since we first met, I knew there was something special about you and I didn't want to lose that." He smiles.

(Y/N) blushes, "I couldn't have ever asked for someone else to fall in love with. Kazu...you really mean it when you say you love me?"

"Of course I do, I couldn't lie to the one girl on this planet that makes me happy. This is our Happily Ever After and nothing will change that. I'll stand by your side forever."

"Forever...I will love you."

The song nears it's end and Kazuichi leans his face toward (Y/N's). Her (E/C) eyes sparkle from the lighting and she presses her lips to his. The two share their first kiss for a moment.

"You kiss by the book (N/N)."

(Y/N) face turns bright pink. "Y-You too."

Prom ended a while later. The two danced the whole night and had an amazing time. Weeks passed and the two had only gotten closer. They went everywhere together and Kazuichi started to live with (Y/N) for most days. His father had been warned for his actions of abuse and could only see him for a few hours during the week. Every day was different for the two. One day they would go to a movie, the next they would hang in (Y/N's) room and play on her Wii U. When Kazuichi fixed her car she would help him just to spend even more time with each other. They shared laughs, smiles, memories and sorrows. They were madly in love, inseparable. Life was perfect for the two and nothing could ruin that...

It was one rainy day when Kazuichi received a letter that would change everything...
