"Kazuichi can you feel it! Look it's so big!" She points at the high school that stands tall in front of the two.
"Yeah it really is...I can't believe we are already in high school...it feels like just yesterday we were sitting under the rusty old slide talking for the first time." He smiles as (Y/N) takes his hand.
"I totally agree with that...let's walk in then, together..."
"I don't think i'm ready." He adjusts his black framed glasses and his grip tightens on (Y/N's) soft hand.
"Kazu, just breathe. It's going to be okay, I promise." She smiles at him reassuringly.
"Can we go on three?"
"Of course." Both look forward at Toushima Industry High School's doors. (Y/N) places her free hand on the knob. "One."
"Two" Kazuichi places his hand over hers.
"Three!" Both open the door and walk in as new freshmen.
~~~~~~~~~TIME SKIP
"(Y/N)! Hey!" Kazuichi calls from down the hall of Toushima. It had been two years since the day they took their first step into high school. The two are now Juniors. Kazuichi had chosen to specialize in courses related to engineering, the one subject he loved more than any other. (Y/N) had chosen to take multiple history and writing classes. They had no classes together, but they still stayed closer than ever. They would find time to see each other any moment they could.
"Kazu!" (Y/N) closes her locker and walks to him. "How were classes today?" She inquires looking around.
"They were great. My small custom engine got the highest grade in the class." He looks down and smiles.
"Really?!" Oh Kazu! I'm so happy for you!" She hugs him. He blushes and lightly hugs back. "As celebration i'll let you have the first dance tonight at prom."
He pulls away, "W-what about John...? Won't he be upset?! I know he doesn't like me...you're all his and he hates when we are together just hanging out..."
"I won't hear it! I've known you way longer than him, sure I love...am in love with him. But i want you to be my first dance, it's only right!." She smiles and the two walk outside and begin to walk home.
"Are you sure you even want me at prom? I'm a klutz, not a good dancer and t-there are things I should be doing at home." he rubs his arm softly.
"Homework can wait!
"It's not..."
You only get one prom. Please, I don't care if you are a bad dancer. I just want you with me to have a good time."
"I-if you really insist."
"Well I do! Meet me at my house at seven!"
He nods and the two part ways to their homes.
~~~~~~~~~TIME SKIP
Kazuichi stood in front of the bathroom mirror and adjusted his bright pink tie. "I hope this is okay..." he picks up his phone and sees a text from (Y/N).
'Can't wait to see you!' He smiles and replies to her.
'You too. Is John going to meet you there?' She replied a few minutes later.
'N-No..I-I'll explain later...' He holds his cell close to his chest. "What happened to you...?" He quickly finishes getting ready and runs out of his room.
"Where are you going son?" his father grips his arm hard.
"T-To (Y/N's) house, w-we are going to..."
"Prom?"
"Y-yeah." He tries to move his arm out of his father's grip but it only gets tighter.
"You'd better be home tomorrow morning or it will be way worse for you than usual."
"Y-Yes sir..."
"Go, get out of my sight." He pats him hard on the back. Kazuichi bites his lip to not wail in pain. Once he's outside he sprints away to (Y/N's) hoping she's alright. He forgets about his back and arm which are throbbing, and knocks on (Y/N's) door. Her mother opens up the door.
"Oh Kazuichi you look so handsome."
"W-where is she."
"She is upstairs. Maybe you can reason with her."
"R-reason?" He walks in slowly and looks up the stairs. "I-Is she okay...?"
"No, not really."
"He bolts up the stairs and walks to the door on the left. "(Y-Y/N)?" he knocks.
"K-Kazuichi...? C-Come in..."
He opens the door and sees (Y/N) sitting at her desk all dressed up in a (F/C) ball gown but sadly she is in tears.
