Chapter 1:The Beginning

It was November 8, 1965 it is a Friday you , Johnny and Ponyboy come home from school Ponyboy goes to the movie, Johnny is watching T.V. with some of the guys and Soda is at work and so is Darry. You usually go to the movies with Ponyboy but you had a lot of homework, Ponyboy likes to lone it when going to the movies anyway. An hour pasts by Darry and Soda come home from work,you here yelling outside so you tell Darry,Soda,Dally,Johnny,Two-Bit,and Steve you all run outside to see a group of socs(the rich kids with all the breaks) jumping Pony on his way home from the movies you and the guy start to scare the socs away. Dally gets a good punch on one of the socs and they drive away yelling "Stupid Greaser we get the next time"(the socs call us Greaser because we have long greasy hair because most of us don't have the money for hair cuts). Johnny is still in the house because he is afraid of the Socs because last time he has seen them he was jumped and now he has a big scar on his face going from his eyebrows to his cheek. Darry and Soda are taking care of Ponyboy, Pony looks like he is about to cry, one of Socs cut his neck real bad. You ask Ponyboy "Are you ok Pony the Socs cut you real bad"."I am ok" he says to you sounding like he was going to cry. You,Ponyboy,Darry, and Soda start to walk to the house to clean Ponyboy's neck Darry starts to talk and says "Ponyboy why were you walking by yourself home? You know that the socs have it out for us.Why didn't you ask one of us go with you". Soda tells Darry "To calm down" but Darry doesn't listen, " You don't think that's why. You're to busy with your books and movies you need to start thinking more" Darry said with finality. You start to tell Darry "It was my fault I should have gone with him I am sorry". "It's not you fault I should of stayed home with you and done my homework" said Ponyboy. Soda says it doesn't matter who's fault it is just as long as Pony is ok it's fine just next time Pony needs to ask someone to go with him. We all walk into the house and got ready for a party one of Dally's friend was throwing that we were invited to.
