Damon's POV :

I woke up Elena in my arms , but she was still asleep , well I didn't want to wake her up after all this is her first natural day after what happened .

I know that she is broken mentally , but I'll do whatever it takes to get her back .

''Damon'' she called softly still closing her eyes , ''morning sunshine '' i said and kissed her hair .

''Is it really over ?'' she said with a broken voice , '' yes it is , you're safe now , i won't let anything happen to you i promise ''

''tell me , how are you felling today ?'' i asked her ,'' i'm so exhausted '' she said

''well that's normal , how about you go back to sleep ?'' i said while stroking her hair

''ok'' she said and closed her eyes again .

I kissed her on her forehead and went downstairs , Stefan ,Caroline and Bonnie were sitting on the living room .

''How is she doing ?'' Bonnie asked the second she saw me , ''well for someone who went through all of this she is pretty good ''

''Damon , what are we going to do with Maxfield ?'' Stefan asked

''we'll wait until Elena is fine then she'll be the one to decide '' I said

''fine'' stefan said

One hour later :

''Please .......no no ...ahh please stop '' i heard Elena screaming I Vamp speed to her Stefan and Bonnie were behind me , Caroline was already gone to get some things

''Elena ...shhhhh , hey wake up please '' I tried to wake her up

''No please leave me alone '' she said sobbing

''Elena hey , I'm Damon ... sweety you're home in our room and our bed ''i said holding both of her shoulders , she was sitting on the bed crying .

she then stopped for a second, realized that she was home , then she throw her self in my arms still crying .

''shhhh ... Lena i'm right here , it was just a bad dream '' I tried to comfort her ,then she was crying but quietly , i looked at her then realized that she didn't want Stefan and Bonnie to see her like this

''Guys some privacy please ?'' I said , they went down and closed the door .

''Hey Elena , look at me '' she raised her head , ''Baby everything is going to be fine ''I said

''How ?'' she said crying .

''What about we go on a trip away from mystic falls ?'' I asked but she didn't answer

''Elena , where do you wanna go ?'' I asked again but this time she said '' Anywhere away from here and with you ''

''Fine '' I said . ''Where are we going'' Elena asked and she started to get calm and stop crying so my plan for her recovery is working

''It's a surprise ''
