The Spiritual Salesman does not judge his colleagues or his prospects. He knows that everyone has a hidden tragedy written in a secret book, which gets hidden from prying eyes and the probing fingers that poke and provokingly prod.
He will only read from the book if they open it and share it with him. When people circle to conspire and judge others he remains quiet and open. When evil words have crossed into his space he releases them as they are and their poison is nullified.
The Spiritual Salesman listens to everyone's story and shows empathy when they share their secrets. He uses the knowledge to build rather than destroy and feels honoured when someone opens themselves to him.
There are times when embittered and confused customers cross his path and share their misery. He listens and provides his solutions, free from judgement and bias. The ones who have crossed his path listen and then hypocritically retreat into a contradiction of what was agreed upon.
When he reaches the next town to sell his wares, the spiritual salesman hears news that he is no longer welcome in the home of the those he has just departed.
He does not feel betrayed, as he has spoken his truth. He is aware that some do not wish to be helped. They repeat the cycle of pain and regret. He knows that they only punish themselves.
