Summer's POV
As soon as Keeper had vanished into thin air, nobody spoke for a few minutes and there wasn't even a single movement. Everyone was, I'm sure, replaying the events of the night in their heads.
"I uh think we should get back home," Troy suggested after what felt like hours and I was so engrossed in my overanalyzing thoughts when he said that, I flipped to which Riley rolled his eyes. That was not dramatic, I swear!
"We should, I guess." I agreed and one by one, everyone got up from their positions.
"Actually, I do not have a ride," Aubree says.
"The least of our worries right now, barbie doll," Blair rolls her eyes and then she looks at Juliet and me as if asking for us to leave and so we follow her out of the restaurant.
"That was so much drama for the day," Juliet says while getting into Blair's car.
"I know right. Not to mention it drained out all of my energy." Blair sighs while getting in the driver's seat.
"Do you both have energems too?" I ask while shutting the door after me and Blair starts driving.
"The one which Riley had? Yep, actually, it's Oliver's. My aunt got it for him last year from their trip to India. But I liked it alot so he attached it to a keychain and gave it to me. It's graphite though not green." Juliet informs us.
"I have one too, in the colour of a summer poppy. You know dad won the award for the second most successful businessman, a few years back? Yep, they gave him the energem as a gift. And dad gave it to mom who gave it to me instead. A passing the parcel game, indeed and honestly, I was planning on giving it to Jason or Jaden, either one of them but I think I'll have to reconsider it now that I know it beholds immense power," she mocks Sledge's tone.
"And you, which colour's yours?" Juliet asks me.
"Purple. Remember I went to my gram's place last year for the summer? Well, there was a fair there and the roller coaster got out of control of the handler, so he fled away instead of trying to control. Mom and dad were in it too and I broke the controller with a rod making the roller coaster stop exactly at the landing to my luck. There was a girl our age too on the ride and her mother, who was a jewel trader, gave her locket with this energem to me despite of me telling her I was not some hero or anything." I say to which Juliet nods and Blair's mouth forms an 'o'.
"What do you think of Sledge?" Blair asks.
"Don't tell me you want to date him?" I chuckle and she glares at me from the rearview mirror. I just raise my hands in defense.
"I think that psycho's a scrap of metal from top to bottom with a brain the size of mustard," Juliet pipes in.
"I meant what level of dangerous do you'll think he might be, mofos," Blair says and from the rearview mirror, I could see her rolling her eyes.
"Can't believe we just witnessed not one but two aliens!" Juliet awes, ignoring Blair's question and I shake my head when my cell rings. It's dad and it's already way past the curfew. Jesus, save me!
"Summer where on earth are you and let me finish my sentence, it is almost midnight which is an hour and a half past your deadline and you didn't even bother to inform me where you are going, let alone telling me you'll be late. Have you any idea how worried I was until Joseph (A/N: Juliet's uncle) told me you went for dinner with Blair and Juliet. And where are you now?" he asks in a deadly serious tone. Oops.
"I totally forgot about the time while at the restaurant. I'll be there in about twenty minutes. So sorry dad," I apologize and I feel pathetic for not telling him.
