Harry picked up a pebble and flicked it into the lake. The pebble bounced on the water once, twice before finally sinking beneath its depths.
Nearby, Nelli was playing 'fetch' with Boris, the dog frolicking around, barking in excitement.
To their left, was their camp. Harry had set up a campfire earlier on, preparing for the night which would be coming anytime soon.
A curious fish swam up to him. Harry put his fingers in the water, and the fish came to peck at it. A few more came and soon they all were swimming around Harry's hand, pecking at it from time to time. He smiled and lifted his hand out of the lake and turned to Nelli.
"Hungry?"
"Don't tell me you're gonna eat those fish just right after they made you smile."
"No, of course not," Harry laughed. "We have some food in our bags right?"
Nelli smiled and nodded. She stood up and head back to camp. Boris pounced right after her and Harry followed.
"I hope we can find the others soon. I'm getting so worried," mumbled Nelli.
Harry sighed softly and looked far out into the distance. "Yeah," Harry said, his mind going a million miles per hour, trying to figure out where they could have ran to.
When everyone dispersed, Harry had grabbed the nearest person and sprinted. He felt lucky it was his girlfriend he had snagged. And Boris was in her arms then, ending up in the three of them being together now.
They only stopped running when they came across the lake. Nelli had pulled him back, with a tear-filled face, she said, I'm dying, please let's stop running. Then she looked at the lake for a moment and marvelled. It's beautiful. The water is so clear, so unpolluted. And they had hugged each other tight back then, afraid to lose one another because the scenario made the place looked like heaven and they both had thought they could be dead.
Nelli brought out some canned food, bread and packeted drinks. She sat down on the mat and patted the space beside her. Harry went forward but before he could sit next to Nelli, Boris came over and sat down beside Nelli where she had gestured Harry to. He had almost sat on the dog but Harry jumped up in time. Nelli laughed and asked him to sit on her other side instead. Harry did.
They ate in silence and as they did, the skies grew darker and clouds covered the entire sky. Lightning started to flash without thunder and in no time, it began to rain and the three of them had to move everything into the tent in their fastest speed possible.
"Bad weather in paradise," Nelli said with a grin.
That night, the rain was still pouring. Harry and Boris had a difficult time getting to sleep because raindrops were attacking the tent like it was looking for revenge of some sorts.
Harry covered his ears with his hands and opened an eye to look at Nelli. She was sitting up, staring far, lost in her own Lalaland.
He looked at her for a while before Nelli noticed and looked at him blankly. "Are you alright?" Harry asked.
"I am, I think," Nelli mused. She started to make her way towards the tent door.
"Where are you going? It's raining!"
" need to hunt. And the rain won't affect me."
"What?"
"You heard," Nelli said, proceeding to get out of the tent and dodged easily when Harry tried to reach for her.
