A Light In The Darkness
(Okay.)
___________________________________It had been four months since Tori first stepped foot into Hollywood Arts, a school for the supernatural and gifted.
She'd made friends, enemies surprisingly, had romances, and learned that she was one of very few humans to roam the halls of Hollywood Arts.
The only humans she even spoke to in school were Robbie and her own sister, and she rarely spoke to Trina in school.
The whole thing was just something she was used to after a while.
Her friends weren't human, so what? It didn't change who they were to her.
Until it did..
Until the school became hollywood headquarters for a demonic rebellion.
Until her entire block was being guarded by demons and evil, terrible things at all hours of the day and night. It didn't change who they were until she watched Beck rip SinJin's spine from his body, watched him smash Ryder's porcelain scull, listened to him threaten Cat over and over again and beat her senseless all for disobeying the "new law".
Until she learned that Beck's dad was the leader of the New Underworld.
Tori learned a lot of things after that.
She learned that Cat's family had thick ties to Beck's and even though Cat wanted to be a Light Nymph, she had no choice but to be in Beck's group of demonic "enforcers".
She learned that Robbie had sold his soul to Beck's dad for eternal protection and that he was trapped too.
She knew that Andre was a dark satyr but she didn't know that it would force him to bend to Beck's father's will as the new leader of the dark arts.
"Tori.. Are you listening?" A voice asked softly.
"Jade.." Tori shook her head.
The girl hadn't been making much sense since she showed up in Tori's room at nearly three in the morning.
"You can stop this, Tori." She assured as she rested her hand over the Latina's.
"No!" The brown eyed girl whisper-shouted at the goth. "I can't, you're insane! You expect me to believe that I can stop Beck and his dad? I'm human, Jade, and since when are you nice anyways? Or good even? Shouldn't you be ruling the world with Beck or something?"
"There are still Angels in the city-"
"No." Tori scoffed. "Angels are good."
"Angels don't have to be good, Tor.. They don't have to be nice or sweet, that's not what they do. Angels make the people around them better, even if the Angel has taken a path of darkness. Their simple presence brings peace and good will toward others. When people spend time with angels it makes them try harder to do good.. For themselves and others, whether or not the angel in question wants them to." Jade explained.
("You expect me to believe you're my Angel? That's a joke."
"I expect you to believe that there are still angels in the city, Tori.. It's not a joke. For a second, just forget about whoever or whatever I am.. Okay?" The goth asked almost impatiently. "You're not alone here and you are not helpless.. You're the Wiccan Savior, Tori. If anyone can save us now, it's you.") <- (A/N. This is pretty much the summery, not that it matters much now.)
"Why do you keep saying that?" Tori groaned, laying back on her bed.
"Because you happen to be the holy grail of good, Vega." Jade laughed, rolling her eyes. "You've always been compelled to do the right thing.. As a child, as a teenager, and you'll always have that. Honestly, it's disgusting just how goodie goodie you really are. I mean, I've spent the past fifty-eight years with Angels day in and day out, and you are by far the most sickly sweet being I've ever met.. You make my skin crawl for heavens sake."
