Title: We Are One
Poem:
I saw people of all colors
People of all genders
People of all personalities
People in all weathers
People who loved one another
Communities that joined as one
I have been through days where we all mattered
Days of natural death and done
I have seen tears and let them fall
I have held someone in my arms
I gave someone the most happy gift
And love had given us its heart
I had seen places that had burned
Those places I had seen arose
Places I have been were filled with spirit
People I met with warm souls
I have tried my best to change the bad
Bad I cannot see
In my eyes there is only good
Good in you, in them, in me
I cried when I realized she was gone
For good, she was lost
But when I heard what she had become
Our love was no unfair cost
We are all heroes
Her, I, them, and you
We are all one
Together in pure joy, it's true
Do you not see laughter?
Because I do
I have seen people of all colors
People of all shapes and genders
People from places of hate and demolition
And people who came together
We are one, my friend
Us, all of us
Together we rise, a place where dreams happen
Love, lost, smiles, and trust
