The boy from that day

Chapter 7

                           I enter my home and turn on my lights . The hall is just in a way how I left in the morning. I close the door knob tightly that no one enters .I leave my bag on the sofa and I toss my shoes to the corner . I place my feet like feathers touching the ground making no noise. I cross my father's room, his room's lamp shade falls out from under the closed door. It means that, he is still awake. I look at the clock above my head ,it is twelve , the same time yesterday I met an attack  .There is no sight of my brother in his room . I reach my room. I place my hand on the knob and  "Amy" I hear a voice. I start to shudder, it was my father.

                    "What?" I turn to him with a roiled manner unwilling to talk to him now. He refused to attend my graduation day. "I have something to talk with you. What I and your uncle have decided about your future".He walked in front of me , which is meant that I should follow him.He led me first inside his room and closed the door behind me. He is still in his suit unchanged.

                      I fold my hands and lean on a table near the door, he sat on his rocking chair and "Amy, today I went to Sunnyvale to meet your uncle Lauren. We were talking about your masters in communication technology , which you wished to pursue . After a few days you will be going there to Sunnyvale and stay with your aunt and uncle".He showed up a file with some forms in it and he took a form with an emblem baring two feathers in each sides and a shield in the centre. It had its name in bold format 'THERESE INSTITUTION OF ARTS AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY '. It is an admission form , he passed it to me. I contained three sheets together. It was already signed by my father in his required space. Once I had an idea of doing my masters in Sunnyvale but I didn't concentrate on it much. I am holding the key for my future , that I wished to have . "Why?" I can't understand what is he upto "Why is this sudden decision ?" . He said"You should have observed a change nowadays , we are not abled to spend our time together I will go for work in different shifts , so you will be left alone hear , but there you will be safe under some care your Lauren uncle is a cop and you will be in full care and protection . You are adequate for this".

                I hold my form and have no words to come up with. Lauren uncle was a strict cop and so protective . He is my mother's elder brother. We used to meet him for all summer holidays . He was right for often having combat with him, this is a better idea to be far away and have the same love he has for me.I think for some minutes " Ok, I'll think about it ",and "What about my graduation day? You are coming , ain't you? " I can't accept that he is not coming. He sigh first and "Sorry , Amy I can't . but I have something for you"he opened a casket and held to my hands "I specially designed this for you , I want to present this as your graduation day gift",It was a platinum thin chain with a dollar in a shape of a jigsaw .

                         It was admirable it had a small single diamond embedded in it. The casket was blue in colour with some soft velvet base making the chain to look enchanted. "This means'That any kind of puzzle will have a solution in it which is precious'". This is a beautiful gift but he can't console me like this. He led the box open holding in his hands and waiting for me to reply. I am frustrated with his activities and in an anger I shut the box and "So, you will not come, you are trying to make me satisfy for your offers".My voice rise as I speak."Is that your work too important ,than your daughter".I didn't allow him to talk,"I don't want any of your gifts ". I scream at him as tears flow like a cascade I bang his room door. I walk fast to my room

                "Amy, why are you shouting at this midst ", my brother Frinic came down in stairs. He had his ears plugged with his earphones. I lean on the wall and wipe my tears with my sleeve ."Are you crying!"I crouch to my knees. He knelt near me and pulled the papers from my hands , I brought it with me itself. "Hey, it is Therese, right , Why are you holding this and weeping ?"He pat my shoulders tight to stop my cry."Dad got this for me " I was  croaking . "It's amazing , you know, but why ?". "He refused to come for my graduation day. He gives importance for his job. I am going to be sullen up there", my eyes were blur filled with tears, he sat near me leaning on the wall  .

  "Amy , I don't know what to tell you but I can understand it is a major conflictment . You just give a last try ask him once again. May be tomorrow ".

"I Don't have any belief that he will accept my proposal".

"Try it, think positive and good",he wiped my tears.

"Tell something good then".

                        "You look beautiful ",he smoothned my hair. I pushed myself into his arms and hugged him."Ok, its time, you should be at your bed right now".He holded me up to stand and gave back those forms."Good night" he said."Good night " I opened my room door and he was still standing behind me leaving his hands inside his pocket , I turned to him and "That was a good thing". I smile at him and he does the same. I lock my door and leave those papers on my table .I open my wardrobe and picked my pyjamas pink and white with some mickey designs in it . I wear my pyjamas  and left my partywear in the hanger . I lie on my bed looking at the stars outside the window. Is that a good idea of giving another try. The idea of Therese was excellent . I wished to do that , the same way I want him for my graduation day . I turn off my lights and pull my comforter I too tired of chatting, partying ,fighting and finally crying , What a day man.I have to take some rest to face my tomorrow.
