I can’t help but keep an eye on Clay ever since I found him in the woods a couple days ago. He doesn’t seem his happy self anymore. I remember Chrissie saying she was worried about him before he came here but it seemed like he was better. Happier. Like the little Clay I left before.

“Princess, you aren’t listening again are you?” I jumped at the sound of Declan’s voice. I forgot I was with him for probably the twentieth time since we have been together.

“Yeah sorry… I didn’t mean to.”

“What’s on your mind? I know it must be bugging you if you can forget about me.” Declan’s smile told me he was trying to lighten the mood but getting a little annoyed with my wandering mind. Like we are supposed to be working on the lead we got with his parents but I just can’t focus.

“It’s nothing I promise, just thinking.” I tried to smile back at him but it was completely forced.

“Princess come on. You gotta relax or talk to me.”

“It’s just… I’m worried about Clay. He has been acting weird and I know you guys aren’t exactly friends but I just wish I knew more about what happened when I left.” While I said this something crossed Declan’s face. I couldn’t pinpoint what it was but I knew there was something I didn’t know yet he did.

“Clayton is a big boy, princess. He can take care of himself. Now can we please focus on my brothers because from what I’m getting it says that they live around here and I would like to figure out who they could be?” I just nodded my head and looked back at the computer. I am seriously missing something between Clay and Dec but what could it be?

“Ave? Chrissie and I are going to go to our building, want to come? I have spray paint!” It was the first time I have talked to Avery since Clay first came here. It’s seems so long ago when she used to be my best friend but I still couldn’t believe she did that to Clay. Actually, the more I think about it, I wonder how Ave actually knows so much about Clay. I never used to talk about him because I would start to miss him to much. Now there’s just one other thing to add to the list of mysteries my life is throwing at me.

“Yea, I’ll be there in 10 minutes!” Ave hung up right after probably gathering the spray paint we left at her house before.

“Chrissie! Ave is going to come, that okay?”

“Yea for sure! Although, before she meets up with us you better tell me what your thoughts are on the whole Declan and Clayton situation?”

“How the hell did you know I thought about it more?”

“Don’t you dare answer my question with a question. Answer me Quinn Jacobs.” I knew Chrissie was getting annoyed with the situation because I avoided it every time she brought it up. It just didn’t feel right talking to her about her twin brother… It’s really weird if I do say so myself.

“I don’t know. Actually, do you know if Declan and Clay knew each other before they met at the party Clay through before you got here? I think they do. Declan has been hinting towards it but I don’t know how the could know each other at all.”

“I don’t think they knew each other? But I did tell you that Clay was distant ever since you moved and he was gone for like two months before he came here. They could’ve met but I honestly don’t know what Clay did or who he talked to for three years.” Chrissie sighed. I knew it was hard talking about her disintegrating relationship with Clay. They were always so close growing up and now they don’t talk about anything. I rolled my eyes and hopped into my car throwing my bag of paints into the back and signaling Chrissie that it was time to go.

We pulled up to the building and I clambered up the ladder to get to the roof. The good thing about where I lived was this place. The little abandoned warehouse that nobody knew about beside me and Ave, well and now Chrissie. Ave and I could spend hours up here just going over and over our old art work. Making it look better each time. Adding more detail or just covering it completely. It was our diary of art, showing all our feelings that we have been going through every damn time we come up here. The last time we were here was already a little over three months ago now. I turned around to pull Chrissie up only to see that she was already up, staring wide eyed.

“Hey what are you doing here?” A deep voice filled my head. Who the hell was at my building? Did Avery show other people? This was my spot. I didn’t even want to turn around and see who it was, they were looking at my giant diary right now, they could probably read me like an open book now. “I asked you a question babe.”

Finally I turned around. The guy that stood there must’ve been new. I definitely would’ve remembered a face like that. His dark, short, spiked hair brought out his bright green eyes. The lip peircing called attention to his full lips and the gauges in his ears were like the perfect size. Tattoos covered his arms and you could see the outline of the dark lines under his white shirt. And people thought Clay looked like a bad boy? This guy looked like he just got out of prison. “I’m Quinn. This is my spot so you might wanna leave.”

“Oh so this was all your work? It was nice, but can you talk about girly?” His smirked revealed perfectly straight and white teeth, they actually glowed. Braces maybe? And definitely whitening.

“Well, if you hadn’t noticed bud, I’m a girl.” I glanced down at myself, my tank top showed just enough skin to know I was clearly a girl and if that wasnt enough I was wearing my lululemon tights and sneaker heels.

“Feisty one aren’t you? Well you got yourself a compromise. Painting contest, not right now ‘cause I’m like out of paint but next week. I’ll bring two of my friends to judge and you bring those two freaks with the bug eyes. Tell them to wipe the drool off though.” I glanced back and sure enough Ave got here and was now standing with Chrissie staring at mystery guy here. “You win, you get this place. I win, you have to let me come back.”

I sat there processing what he said for probably a good minute before I finally realized that no matter what he wasn’t kicking me out. “Wait, I don’t have to leave? Even if you win.”

“Got that right babe. See you here next wednesday, 3 o’clock. I’ll leave you here with tweedle dee and tweedle dumb now though. They’re kinda creeping me out.” And with that mystery guy walked away. Let me tell you MG had a nice backside, I was definitely pleased that I didn’t have to ask him to wear a belt text time too. Maybe I could let him win this little art competition. He seems like he could be good company. If he didn’t get me in trouble first.

“So you’re going to win that competition right?” Ave was the first to step out of the trace that MG left them in. Honestly I was surprised about that because even I can admit, Ave is boy crazed, that is why I call her BG.

“Hell yea. May I get practicing now?” I smiled, hopefully convincing, because I had no plan on winning that contest at all.

Finally updated! I am so sorry I have taken so long. I am going to try and update again this weekend! I love you all! XOXOXO
