So this chapter is dedicated to Youngwriter782 for the amazing cover she made me!! <3
Declan crossed the room and wrapped me in his arms. I was too shocked to move at first until the familiarity of his arms brought me back. I pulled away to see him smiling down at me and a grin pulled at my face. For a minute I didn’t notice he was taller than me. My face contorted into a look of pure curiosity and I dragged my eyes down his body. Taking in how muscular he has gotten and above all, the fact that he isn’t in a wheelchair anymore. Maybe is was the strong buzz I had or just me being me but i reached out and touched his leg, just to see if my mind was playing tricks on me. As soon as I did Declan’s laugh rang out and filled my ears.
“But… how?” That was all I managed to say. I couldn’t believe it. The scrawny boy that was paralyzed from waist down that everyone ignored was standing in front of me looking fine as hell.
“The doctor’s asked if they could try something on me, it was a risk of dying or being able to walk again, I said to hell with it and look how well it worked out!” His eyes completely lit up when he talked about being able to walk, just like they did before when he couldn’t. I knew it meant everything to him and I loved seeing him smile. “So, is this your house…?”
“No this is my friend, Clayton’s house. Come on have a drink, we can talk tomorrow!” I pulled Declan towards the kitchen so he could get a drink. It was hard to sneak our way through but luckily all the people in the house are either not paying attention or too drunk to realize that I’m pulling a very gorgeous guy through the house. We made it into the kitchen where the C MAJORS were sitting. All of the originals stared at Declan with the same look of recognition on their face that I probably did, while Clay sat there with a blank look.
“C MAJORS I think it’s time to properly introduce you to Declan Oliver.” Their eyes all went wide probably remembering my confession from earlier, I was just praying that they kept their mouths shut. “Declan, these are the C MAJORS. Clayton Reeler; the bad boy and the player, Mason Trew; the leader, Andrew Linard; the jock, Josh Franzie; the social butterfly, Owen Linard; the brains, Ryan Gram; the joker and Sean Brandie; the stylish one. Since their names aren’t important their nickname, C MAJORS, covers them all.” The look of amusement from Declan and the glares from the other boys told me that my babbling paid off.
“Wait, aren't you supposed to be paralyzed? That’s what Q said at least when she admitted you’re the only one she’s ever slept with.” There was the end to the glares from the boys, they all started laughing and Clay’s drunken exclamation. I shot the boys the finger and grabbed Declan’s arm to walk out.
“Come on let’s go dance, those guys are drunk.”
“Princess-” Declan stopped talking and looked at me. Catching on his mistake of using his old nickname for me. It caught me off guard and we just kinda and looked at each other until he cleared his throat and continued. “Anyway… I can’t dance. I just got out of rehab for walking again like three months ago.”
“Oh come on. You were always good and popping to the beat while in your wheelchair! Just move your legs to.” I smiled encouragingly at him knowing that he’d give in eventually. “But you know, you can always drink this first.”
“Fine give me those.” Declan chugged his drink no problem and reached out for one of mine, yes that’s right I double fist it. It’s the only way to go. Little does he know that my drinks are always really strong. Declan started coughing non stop but finally managed to talk. “What the hell is that?”
“”My concoction! Now shake what your mama gave you!” My grin widened while he shook his head but I noticed that after only five minutes the alcohol was getting to him, I knew it would. He was a light weight a year ago and I guess that hasn’t changed at all. Declan’s body was quickly getting into the rhythm more and more until his grabbed my waist pulling me back into him and moving us both to the beat. He was never confident like this before, his brain always got the better of him, but I like this side. This side shows that he still knows how to be a teenager and that he isn’t growing up as fast as I once thought he was. I looked around and noticed that a lot of people were starting to leave and moved away from Declan.
“Hey, Dec. How did you get here?” I asked even though I already knew he drove himself. There is no way in hell that I was going to allow him to drive himself home now.
“Umm, my bike. It’s so nice. I’m going to take you for a ride on it sometime.”
“Let’s go find Clay quick okay?” I continued to pull his arm back into the kitchen while he stumbled all over the place. Never again will I allow him to drink my drinks. He can not handle it at all. I walked into the kitchen to see that a game of suck and blow was started. The C MAJORS had all gathered up a girl to join their little game without noticing that it was after two in the morning already.
“Clay?” He finished passing the card to the blonde bimbo before looking at me. “Declan can’t drive home, is there any room besides yours that was locked that we can put him in?”
“Nope, the rest of the C MAJORS claimed them.” Of course he was going to act like this now. I looked towards the rest of the guys begging with my eyes to let Declan crash with one of them.
“He can crash on the floor of the room I’m in, but I get the bed. I’ll show you the room.” Sean got up and I thanked him all the way to the room. He pointed to it and went to walk back downstairs leaving me to deal with Declan the rest of the way. When I finally got him settled into the room I helped him take his shirt off and found a pair of Clay’s sweats for him to wear.
“Thanks. I had fun tonight!” His lazy smile told me he was going to pass out any minute.
“I had fun too. I’ll let you go to sleep now though.” I smiled back and tried to step back out of the room but Declan’s hand reached out and wrapped around my wrist.
“Princess, I missed you. There’s so much I need to tell tomorrow but I think I should wait till tomorrow. I’ll tell you this now though, I did come back for a reason, although part of that reason was you there is more.” I didn’t know what to say, while he was missing me I hadn’t even thought of him. While we was risking his life to walk again I hadn’t even bothered with a check up text. I looked away and when to look back and his face was right in front of mine. Without hesitation his lips pressed against mine. The spark was still there. The one that warmed me from my nose to my toes, but now there was something more. The spark ignited fireworks that exploded in my stomach. I didn’t know what to think. He finally pulled back at looked me in the eyes again. “There, now you can let me sleep.”
I watched as he laid down and drifted off as soon as his head hit the pillow.
Just when I thought it would be easier to figure out my feelings for only Clayton, Declan gets thrown in. Now I don’t just have my best friend with part of my heart I have to worry about my first love. This night just got even more eventful.
