When I hear my alarm clock going off to say I’m excited is definitely an understatement. Even though I have school today the fact that I have the competition with MG today has my jumping to get ready.

I can’t help but laugh at the texts from the two girls. Especially the one from Ave. That’s just a typical move from her. I grab my phone, texting Chrissie back confirming that I kind of have to skip last period to be able to meet MG at three o’clock. There is no way I’m going to have him think that I chickened out or anything, I definitely and more confident in my skills than that. I go to text Ave back saying that I wonder what his friends will look like too when I start getting a call from Clay. Clay hasn’t been up for much conversation since I went after him in the woods about two weeks ago.
“Clay! I missed you! What’s up?”
“Q! Missed you too! Wanna skip today with me? I really need to tell you some-” His voice sounded strained so I knew right away that it was important. School can wait.
“Yes. Although I do need to leave around two if that’s okay…?”
“Yeah, yeah of course. And thanks Q I really appreciate this! I’m uhm… Outside your house so once you’re done getting ready just come on out!”
“I’ll be quick.” After I hung up I rushed to the bathroom to get ready. I’m glad I’m one of those girls that is able to wake up and have there hair fall nearly perfect. It cuts the time I spend getting ready in half. Once I was ready I rushed downstairs to find Clay making himself at home in my kitchen.
“What are you doing in here…?” I couldn’t help but ask, the front door was locked and he is now in here.
“I let him in.” I turned around and saw Declan coming out of the washroom. What the actual hell is happening right now? How is Declan in my house too?
“Wait, then how are you in here?”
“I let him in.” Well this time it makes a hell of a lot more sense since it’s my brother telling me that he let people in our house.
“Oh okay… Well Clay are we still going?”
“Well Q, I actually need Declan to come with us. We both have some explaining to do.” I just stood there looking at them. Not knowing how to react until Clay started pulling me to the living room.
“Sorry Ian but I just need to talk to Q…”
“Clay, Dec why don’t we just go up to my room than? Wouldn’t that make it easier?” I hear myself ask but I didn’t actually think I was talking. I’m still trying to figure out why both Declan and Clayton need to talk to me.
The boys look back and forth between me and themselves but finally nod and start walking up to my room. Leaving me to follow them. As I make my way upstairs I hear them whispering to each other but I can’t make out what they’re saying at all. I slam my door shut and look at the two.
“Will someone tell me what is going on?”
“Declan and I know each other if you didn’t already figure that one out…”
“I’m not stupid Clay but how?” It’s about time I get answers from the two of them.
“About six months ago I came back. The surgery was successful and I wanted to actually do something that I never could do before. I took up street fighting…” Now that wasn’t something I was ever expecting Decan to say. He was always a sweet-heart, not wanting to ever get in trouble. Not some guy that joins street fighting for the hell of it.
“I was already a part of the little street fighting community. One of the best actually. We never wanted anyone to get seriously hurt so I trained them too. Not a lot of training because where would the fun be in that.” Clay started explaining his part of the street fighting.
“Wait, so you met each other through street fighting?”
“Yes. We were really close too actually but then-” Clay started talking before Declan interrupted him.
“He started talking about the Quinn Jacobs he was-”
“Best friends with!” The boys exchanged weird looks before Declan started talking again.
“Yeah… Best friends with. Anyway, we kinda drifted apart after that because I told him about the Quinn Jacobs that I used to date. Okay besides the fact that we’re both males and get jealous there’s more. This street fighting was a club. That some pretty freaky people run. You don’t want to mess with them. However Clay and I both got out of there and ended up in the same spot actually kind of worries me. We now always have to watch our backs.”
“Well Declan heard his parents live here and that’s why he came, and I came because of you.” Clay spoke up and again I was taken aback by what he said.
“You know Declan was looking for his parents?”
“Yeah I was actually the first one he told.”
I couldn’t deal anymore. Clay and Declan’s constant glaring and interrupting was getting to me so I pulled out my phone planning on getting Chrissie to come get me. Only the thing I wasn’t expecting was it to be almost quarter to two again giving me the perfect excuse to leave the boys and get some of my frustration out. I look up at the both of them and they are staring at me looking like little lost puppies.
“I’m going. I will text you both later.” With that I left. I went straight to my building hoping to get there before anyone else. Praying that this could bring some normality back into my life. Praying that Chrissie and Ave won't make complete fools out of themselves this time. And above all praying that MG wins this competition.
