She wasn't dead...yet.

Her pale fingers rubbed the soft texture of the beddings. She brought her hand to her eyes, which was still closed. She was afraid to know. She was back to the familiar, sickening place that she loathed. She was too afraid...

Upon hearing the door slowly creak, she frantically pretended to be asleep.

"Good morning, Miss Hyūga," a gentle, soft voice said,"Starting today, I'll be your nurse."

Eyes still closed, she managed to stutter,"W-Who are y-you?"

"Kotsuzumi Mori, miss. Don't worry, I will do my best to assist and take care of you!"

Hinata turned around, her eyes opening, seeing nothing but just blurry images. Based on her really defective vision, the man has red hair, and he was smiling.

Is h-he happy t-to see me?

Hinata flipped her hair and lied down her bed again. She wasn't blind, at least, but she was slowly succumbed by the illness. She felt a single tear drop as he poked her soft cheek slowly and awkwardly.

"W-what are you d-doing?" Hinata asked, making him jump and crash to the the table, dropping the food.

"Aw...I'm sorry, Hyūga-san...I spilled the food your sister prepared," he bowed down, his forehead touching the floor.

"Ehe...hehe," Hinata awkwardly laughed,"It's alright..."

Besides, why should I eat if I just end up dying?

Mori started to pick up the wasted food carefully, opened the windows and let the birds who passed by eat it from his hand. The birds chirped a joyous melody as they gobbled up the rice. He started to whistle the same tune the birds were chirping and now Hinata is now thinking if he was a princess or whatever.

After the birds finished their meal, he washed his hands then looked at her,"I'm really sorry..."

Hinata nodded, accepting his apology.

The next moments were silent, and Hinata swore that she could hear him blink. She started to laugh, for no reason, and soon Mori ended up laughing too.

Mori beamed,"So! Your blood will be tested on 11:00 AM, and you are to undergo fasting...But anyway, I just gave on patient and it's boring to stay in the office so I'll stay here, if you don't mind."

Hinata blinked.

"Eh..." Mori rubbed the back of his head,"If you're uncomfortable, then I can leav-"

"Just stay..."

It's pretty lonely.

Mori refrained from getting the door then pulled a basket underneath the bed which contained knitting materials then beamed,"Your sister left this, stating that you love knitting. Maybe you can do this in your free time, or now."

He passed her the basket slowly, which she received gratefully.

She pulled out the orange mitten she was making for Naruto. Mori watched her closely as she tried to use the hook to knit, but her hands shook uncontrollably as she squinted, trying to make her sight clearer, but was disappointed.

"Why...Why can't I just-!"

He knelt down in front of her bed, took the hook, and started knitting.

Hinata couldn't believe her eyes.

He knows how to knit?

"Man, it has been too long since the last time I knitted!" Mori smiled as he cut the yarn.
