Several hours earlier

Mori stood, waiting for Ayame. He was holding a bowl, filled with freshly cooked ramen. He promised he will give Naruto ramen, and now here he is.

He smiled as he spotted Ayame, and he placed the bowl unto her arms.

"Please give this to Uzumaki-san," he breathed out.

Ayame nodded and hurried back to the shop, while saying goodbye.

There was something that he still could do. Although it was hopeless, there still is something that can be done, that can save someone.

His eyes, he doesn't know the reason why, the reason why it turns white, and is suddenly able to see through things. He never knew who was his father, and when he asked his already late mother, she never said anything. Arisu will start to cry, scold him lightly then hold him close to her.

He and Hinata might be related, and she belongs to the main. Well, it can be hypothesized that he is part of the branch.

Therefore, he is tasked to protect her. He should be loyal to his duties, and not leave Miss Hyūga alone. Even if they said that the Branch and Main are no more, his will to help has not yet died, despite his claims.

He ran across the streets, tracing back his steps he always took as just as he used to when he was still employed in the hospital. Nothing was too late, and being late is better than never.

He opened the door to Lady Tsunade's office without knocking. The Slug Sage was a bit offended, but she let him voice out his request.

"Use my eyes. The test came out as positive, right, m'lady?"

She nodded. "And so?"

Mori bowed in respect and humility. "Please make my eyes of good use."

Tsunade frowned. "I'm quite certain that Naruto already has the spares . . . So I think we'll just wait for him, and you just stay put."

He had no choice but to wait.

"TSUNADE-SAMA!"

It was Karin.

Tsunade stood up to face her. "Yes, Karin?"

"We brought the spares." Karin knelt and presented it to the Fifth, which Tsunade gingerly took.

She unwrapped it, and examined it closely. Her expression turned sour, as if the mission she gave them was a failure.

And sad to say, it was.

"These eyes are damaged beyond repair. Is this the only one you brought?"

Hanabi, who was beside the redhead Uzumaki, nodded vigorously, though it was obvious that she was nervous.

Hanabi gulped, she knew, she could also do something. "Tsunade-sama, if you please, can I donate my eyes inst-"

"No. You are the heiress you your own clan, you should be in perfect condition."

Mori, who was still inside the office, raised his hand. "I'll do it. . . "

Tsunade raised a brow. "You don't mind?"
