I was downstairs cooking breakfast when I heard a scream come from upstairs. I dropped everything and ran upstairs to my room where I had Kennedy sleeping in. I burst through the doors to find her sitting in bed looking scared.
"What's wrong?" I asked looking around the room to make sure everything was alright.
"I got scared because I forgot that my car broke down and I guess you brought me here..." She trailed off. I laughed a little.
"Yeah, you fell asleep in the car and I didn't know where you lived so I just brought you here, changed you into that dry and clean shirt since your clothes were all wet and stuff." I explained. She nodded her head. Then her eyes got all big.
"What time is it?"
"9:25, why?"
"I need to get to work. I'm late and then it's going to take longer because I need to get ready." She got out of the bed and started waking around whispering to herself.
"Umm, well let me take you to work but not until after breakfast that I made." She smiled and nodded. I gestured her to follow me down stairs as I lead the way. Once we got downstairs I finished making breakfast and made up both a plate with some orange juice.
"Wow, this is good. I'm surprised you know how to cook. You look like the type to eat cereal and noodles all the time." She smirked. I laughed.
"Oh, I see you got jokes." We both laughed together.
After breakfast I gave her back her clothes that were now washed and cleaned. We left the house and got into my car. We first drove to her car because it had important things like her phone and purse. Then she gave me directions to her house. Once we got there she hopper out of the car.
"Umm, i'll be back. I might take awhile though." She giggled. I shook my head as I load my head back and relaxed. That was until my phone started ringing. I picked it up and answered the call.
"Yo?" I spoke into the phone.
"Wassup Fam'." Dee spoke," Get down to the warehouse whenever you can." I heard screaming in the back ground. I raised my eyebrows.
"Who in the hell was that?" I asked slightly confused. Dee laughed.
"We got some dirt and here and it's gone help us to finding who all behind this new crew." I smirked. When it comes to the streets they say I get a little to excited but there is just this feeling that makes it all worth it.
"Well I'm a little busy right now with somebody." I looked out the window at Kennedy house.
"You gettin' some playa'?" Dee asked and I could tell he was smirking right then and there.
"I wish" I laughed,"It might be different with this one Dee." I spoke. He laughed.
"M, it's never different. They all the same and you know that." I shrugged but forget that he couldn't see me.
"Not all." I argued. He huffed. " Look what I'm saying is that yeah most of them are like that but not all, and what I'm trying to do is find that out. My mom kinda talked me into this too anyways." I laughed and so did he. We stayed on the phone a couple more minutes but when Kennedy walked out of her house I hung up with him. I leaned over opening the door for her. At the same time I checked her out.
She was looking good and professional at the same time. I could tell she was a very classy girl just by the way she carried herself. Not like them other girls I've known. She smiled while hoping into the car. She told me where she worked so I pulled off in the direction her job was. For the rest of the ride, we talked a little and listened to the radio. I them pulled up to her job and stopped the car.
She smiled, "Thank you." I nodded. She got out of the car and was about to close it.
"Wait, can I take you out to dinner tonight." I asked. I might as well give this whole love thing a shot.
"I can't tonight, I have things to do but umm ... What about lunch in like 3 hours ?" She asked looking at her phone. I nodded and smiled. She smiled along with me.
"Okay well I'll see you then, beautiful." I winked and she blushed. She closed my door and walked into her building office. I smiled to myself while pulling off.
•Kennedy•
I walked into the office saying hi to people since I was in such a good mood. Looks like I got a lunch date today. Once I got upstairs I did my best sneaking past Carter's office since I knew he was probably going to get on to me about being late. I smirked when I got pass without him seeing me.
I walked into my office but wanted to walk right back out when I saw Carter sitting in my chair as if he was waiting for me which he probably was. I cursed quietly to myself.
"Late, late, late." Was all he said before silence took over us.
"Well you see-"
"No excuses Kennedy. You was late and that's final." He shook his head. I rose an eyebrow. He better be lucky he my boss now.
"Well I was late because My car broke down and I will just stay extra hours to make up the lateness."
"Oh, I was going to make you do that either way. Also you need to do some of my paperwork for me while I go into this meeting." He pointed to the stack of papers on my desk. My jaw dropped.
"Carter, I'm included in that meeting if you forgot so how am I going to do all my work and your's?" He shrugged. I rolled my eyes.
"Get it done. Oh and if your car broke down then how did you get here?" I smirked.
"Somebody special brought me here."
"Your boyfriend?" He asked curious. I nodded.
"In fact, he is even coming to pick me up for lunch."
Suddenly a look of jealously spread across his face. I smiled walking over to my desk and sitting down. I sat all my stuff down as he stood there watching me.
"Well I want to meet him when he comes." He smiled while my smile when down. I silently cursed in my head.
"No problem." I lied. He nodded his head walking out of my office. I through my head and closed my eyes. One lie can lead to more lies that will lead to more lies.
I kept looking at the clock the whole time throughout the meeting. I took notes here and there but I could hardly concentrate. This whole lying thing is starting to eat me alive. At times Carter would look over my way with an amused face.
When the meeting was over I gathered all my things and checked my phone.
Messiah : Just got here, I'll be parked outside. Just come down when you ready.
I received this message seven minutes ago. I hurried back to my office and gathered my stuff.
Kennedy : Okay, I'm coming down now. I just got out of a meeting.
I grabbed my phone and walked out if my office. I hurried on to the elevator and tried to close it but right as it was about to close Carter slipped his way in. I glared at him without him even noticing.
"Seems like your in a hurry to see your little boyfriend." He looked at me. I forced a smile among my face and even a rock could tell that it was fake. The whole ride down I didn't say anything and as soon the doors opened I slipped right out going outside but no without Carter right on my tail.
Messiah was standing by the passenger door and smiled at me. His face then became confused when he saw Carter right next to me.
"So Kennedy is this your boyfriend?"
"Boyfriend?!?" Messiah asked.
