-Toby's P.O.V.-
The next day, I was sitting at the kitchen table for lunch, lost in my thoughts when suddenly I heard my phone ring. I jumped slightly at the brief notification and hesitated taking my phone out of my pocket.
I recognised the notification as I had set different sounds to different people a couple of years back.
"It couldn't be...." I thought, almost dropping my coffee cup in the process. Sally probably noticed the weird-scared face I made because she then asked if I was alright, "Are you gonna get that?" She inquired afterwards, clearly reffering to my phone.
I quickly shook my head, nodded and got my phone out.
I stared at the screen before putting in my 7-digit password and going into my messages.
"Mom? Can I be excused??"
She looked up from her phone, looked at my plate then to me and nodded, looking back to her phone quickly. "Sure"
I sighed and hurried while I put my plate on the counter and ran upstairs to my room like my life depended on it.
I shut the door immediately and fell on my bed as I reread the message over and over again:
Annonymous:
Did you forget our little deal?
You leave and never come back, she lives...
Tears began to fill my eyes as I scrolled through all the messages this number has sent me. I looked at the first one and read it to myself carefully:
Annonymous:
You are a danger to your best friend Sky.
If you do not stay away from her, I will be forced to kill her.
I didn't want to leave Skylar again so I didn't know what to do at all. I fought back my tears as I paced back and forth in my room, before breaking down on my bed with a sob.
I thought and thought and thought before figuring out what to do. I decided to call my best friend Ash to help me figure out who was sending all the messages and death threats. "Yes, that's what I'll do..." I smiled and called Ash.
About 5 minutes later, (Yea, 5 minutes later :P) I heard a firm knock on my door so I almost tripped as I ran to get it. I opened the door to find an out-of-breath Ash at it. "I.....r-ran...here..." He slowly explained, "Asher....Johnson.....to the.... rescue." He said while making a superhero pose and I laughed. "Come in buddy!" I smiled and let him in as he caught his breath.

I was really glad Toby called me when he did as I was in a 'family gathering' and was trying to avoid my akward uncle Bob... Yea, he tried to feed me this wierd green cake that was covered in, raisins I think.... and asked me why I wasn't married yet. Don't ask why, my parents just tell me he has been through a lot, though I think it's probably because my auntie had died last year. It was a sad time for everyone..
Anyway, I was also glad he called because I hadn't talked to him in a while as he was moving back into his parents house. But mostly because I could get away from my family gethering.
When we went up to his room I could almost guess why he called me over because of all the tension in the air.
"So... it's happening again?" I asked while I looked around his room briefly, noticing the glow-in-the-dark stars were still on his ceiling. I swear, I kept thinking he would still have them up at 99 years old.
"Uh huh" he replied before taking his phone out to show me the latest text he had gotten. As soon as I read it I heard Toby's nervous voice pierce the silence, "I thought they (the messages) would stop. That he/she, it would forget about me and move on, so I moved back here... I was wrong! So, so so so wrong..."
I looked at him and assured that he should calm down with a hug.
"So you want me to try and decode and source the number again?"
"I mean, it's worth a try, right? Atleast once? If you really can't do it again, I-I'll tell S-Skye..."
I accepted the request immediately and quickly took out my laptop to start hacking into the satellite. It was hard work, and I couldn't find any trace of any signal.
After about an hour I turned to a nerve-racked Toby with a half smile, "So far I'm getting nothing. You know, you could go get an ice-cream or coffee or something. You have to calm down a bit."
"Ice-cream?? Coffee?!" He sighed so I shrugged and looked back at my laptop. I didn't really know what was happening either but I wanted to stay calm and rational. On the outside. On the inside I was freaking out, a lot.
At about 7 I decided to take my laptop home and work on it there. Toby happily agreed and so I went home in the cold Autumn weather. Through all the windy, well, I lived a few blocks away from him so basically through all the windy, trees? :P
It was really hard to find any evidence of any trace of anything associated with the number. As if it never existed...
