A bit about me:
I'm Keira Smith, 14 and currently living with my Auntie, Uncle and my sister Rhianne. There's just a difference about my life compared to anyone elses, apart from the fact my sister is terminally ill and I don't have my mum and dad around, I've been keeping quiet about something, something I felt ashamed of.
I yawned and rubbed my eyes, trying to stay awake in history was harder than I thought especially when you had a best friend like mine.
'I swear he's too stuck up his own ass! All he talks about is him and his friends... it's like he never has time for me!' She said and sighed. I really didn't care one little bit about her and her boyfriend, my mind was on something else; something she didn't know.
'What? Are you still talking about Luke?' I asked starting to get annoyed, she didn't even consider how I felt anymore knowing what I was going through.
'Yeah obviously, what's wrong with you?'
'Argh, nothing.' She raised her eyebrow and looked at me suspiciously.
'You can tell your best friend you know.'
'Best friend? I'm only your best friend when it suits you Sarah.' She rolled her eyes, but it was true, I was only her best friend when she wanted someone to listen to her.
'That's not true babes! You know you are my best friend and it's always been that way.'
'Mm, more like rebound friend.' I mumbled and carried on working until the end of the lesson came which meant the end of the day. I was dreading going home but someone needed to help look after Rhianne. I picked my bag up and put it over my shoulder as I was walking out the room someone barged past me pushing me into the wall. I glared at him waiting for an apology and he just turned away and walked out of the room. Sarah caught up with me and nudged me in my arm.
'What was that about?' She asked.
'I don't know, it wasn't anything.' I had no idea why he acted like that, he didn't speak to anyone apart from Luke and whenever he was with him he always had his hood on and his era cap covering his eyes :/.
We both walked out of the school gates and as usual there was the group of boys, they all spoke to Sarah but not me, it didn't bother me.
'Argh, I'm jealous.' Sarah said and pouted, I raised my eyebrow.
'Of what?'
'You! You're so fucking pretty, and your hair is so bloody beautiful.' I laughed lightly and scratched my head, I wasn't sure about the pretty bit but my hair was nice, in a non vain way. We walked past and as usual Luke grabbed sarah by her bum and she giggled, I found it disgusting. Was she actually that blind to see he was only using her for one thing? I shook my head and carried on walking that was until I heard footsteps behind me, I turned around and saw him walking behind me with his head facing the floor. He looked up and I rolled my eyes and carried on walking, he grabbed my arm and took off his hood.
'You want an apology don't you?' He asked, well of course!
'I'm not bothered, I get barged everyday so it means nothing.' He laughed lightly and I looked around.
'Erm, I should be going...' I started walking off and 10 minutes later I realised he was still walking next to me.
'What?' I asked.
'Nothing, why you always with that chick?'
'Who, Sarah?'
'Yeah her, the white one. All she does is leave you when Luke is around.'
'Somehow I don't think this is any of your business.'
'Alright, I was just saying init.' He crossed the road and carried on walking until he was out sight. Erm, okay then? I sighed and walked until I got to my front door, I unlocked it and closed the door behind me. Uncle Trevor came downstairs and I tensed up, he noticed and winked at me. I looked away and he chuckled to himself as he went into the kitchen. I ran upstairs and into Rhianne's room to check on her, she was fast asleep. Lately her health had just been getting worse and it was starting to worry me. Since all the treatment cost so much money I had to earn my share somehow and uncle Trevor always made me repay him in his own 'special way'. I quietly shut the door and went into my room, I shut the door and threw my bag and shoes down and changed out of my uniform. I sat on my bed and got my laptop out, I signed on facebook but I couldn't be bothered to stay online. A light knock on my door made me look up and uncle Trevor walked in, closing and locking it behind him, he sat on the edge of my bed, I edged away from him and he rested his hand on my leg rubbing it slowly.
'Where's my money?' I kept still and silent and he gripped my leg tightly.
'I said, where is my money Keira?' I shook my head slowly.
'I...haven't got it.' I said quietly and he laughed and shook his head at me, he tutted and moved closer to me.
'If you expect me to pay for your sister's treatment how can I do that with no money?'
'I don't know.' I said and tears started blurring my vision.
'Aww, baby don't cry.' He said and raised his hand to wipe away a tear that was rolling down my cheek. I felt scared. More than that and I knew what was coming next.
'And you know what you have to do in return for not paying, don't you?' He said and smirked, I tried to get up and he quickly pinned me down to the bed. This had happened too many times, I knew exactly what happened every time, and I bit down on my lip as hard as I could...
