I woke up early on a Saturday morning, which really wasn't like me. I felt sore and it still hurt from yesterday, just thinking of it made me feel sick. I crept out of my bed holding onto my stomach which was aching like mad, I had blood on my leg. I went to have a long bath and scrubbed as hard as I could removing his invisible fingerprints from my skin. I got out after a while, dried off and creamed and looked for some clothes to put on. I put on my skinny jeans and a vest dress with my plimsolls. I sat down infront of my mirror and slowly started brushing my hair trying to ignore the pain in my lower stomach. My door opened and Rhianne walked in and sat on my bed, she was only 11 but had to go through this. She hated me feeling sorry for her so my way to disguise that was by getting money to pay for her treatment, sometimes I wished it was me instead of her.
'Rhi, are you feeling any better?' She shook her head.
'Nope, my joints are all achy and my hairs falling out more.' She sighed, I knew how much she loved her long curly black hair and all of this chemotherapy was making her lose that. I picked my brush up and sat next to her and softly brushed her hair, I twisted the ends for her whilst we spoke.
'So how's school?' She asked, I shrugged.
'Same as usual, Sarah still talking about herself and Luke.' She laughed.
'I guess some people never change, I wonder if she'll be the same once I've you know...' The room became silent. I hated when she spoke like this. Knowing it was most likely to happen, I always pushed it to the back of my mind and focused on getting her better.
'Rhianne! Focus on getting better-'
'Face up to reality Keira, I'm not going to be here much longer and we both know it... maybe you should start adjusting to life without me-'
'Rhianne, you will be here and you'll get better, I promise.' She looked towards the floor.
'Mum promised I'd get better and she'd be here no matter what...but that's changed hasn't it? Promises mean nothing anymore Keira.' I stopped brushing her hair and she looked up at the time.
'Are you still coming with me to the appointment?' Sugar!
'I totally forgot! I made plans with Sarah to go with her to meet Luke and some other boy.' She shrugged and stood up.
'Don't worry, I'll just ask Auntie, you always come so it's fine Key.' I nodded and gave her a big hug.
'Tell me how it goes.' She nodded and left, I picked up my bag and shouted bye as I was running out of the house I was already 20 minutes late but it didn't matter. I got the bus and got off once I'd gotten into Croydon. I could see Sarah eating Luke's face off and I faked being sick, Ricardo saw and laughed.
'Why did she tell me to come and meet her if that was all she was gonna do?' He shrugged and carried on texting on his phone, he was so mysterious I felt the need to call him mystericardo, lool.
'Argh, I'm going home!' I said and Sarah pulled away from Luke and looked at me.
'Oh wow! I didn't even notice you'd came babe, we're going Luke's.' I rolled my eyes and Luke looked at me blankly, I've never liked him and he's never liked me its always been that way. They walked off with her giggling like an idiot and Ricardo looked at me and I looked back at him.
'I told you, she always leaves you.' I screwed him and slowly started walking not caring whether he was there or not and before I realised it Luke and Sarah had disappeared leaving me behind with Ricardo. He started laughing randomly and I raised my eyebrow.
'What's funny?'
'The fact that I'm always right. What's she gone and done to you again?' He asked.
