The Alpha/Beta who rejected me

The shock of my life

Alpha Travis POV

(ring, ring, ring) I hear the phone I roll over and grab my cell phone off the night stand that's not what's ringing. The phone in my office is what's ringing I jump out of bed running downstairs (ring, ring, ring) to it. Only other packs have this number and it's used in emergency purposes only. I storm into my office and pick up the phone only it's dead they hung up SHIT.

I take a seat in my chair hoping who ever it was will call back. I look at the clock and see that its 2:30 in the morning I will give them ten minutes. I lean back in my chair and start thinking about what has happened this pass year. Nathan shifting so early is a really big deal when he becomes 16 I'm hoping he will be mated to one of my daughters.

***Flashback***

The day after Nathan's shifted I became very curious about Beta Sean's wolf history I went into town and looked at some of the records. I must have spent four to five hours in there and just when I was about to give up I  came across something it seems that Sean's great-great-grandfather Thomas was an Alpha.

From what I'm reading some Rouges killed his Luna, Alpha Thomas lost his mind and went crazy.  The Beta took over because the male heir Jeffery was not of age to become Alpha.  A few years later the pack was over run with the Rouges again. Some of the families called upon other packs and became members the Alpha's heir Jeffery became a Beta of The Lake Moon when he should have been an Alpha of his own pack. That means Sean and Nathan really do have Alpha blood.

I get up, start walking to my car I get in and start driving back to the pack house.  When I arrived at the house I'm greeted by my Beta Sean. I look at him, tell him "we need to talk" he just nods his head and follows me inside.

As soon as we are in my office I turn to him, ask him "why haven't you ever challenged me for Alpha?" He gives me this look and starts laughing and says "why would I ever challenge you for Alpha?"  "I tell him of my fines in records" and he just shrugs his shoulders and says "if my great-grandfather, grandfather and my father were all okay with being Beta why should it matter".

Beta Sean went on to say "he has loved being in this pack and so did the rest of his family why change anything. Your my Alpha and my best friend we've been through a lot I have know desire to challenge you for Alpha. Where is all of this coming from?"

I tell him to call a pack meeting in one hour everyone must be there. He gives me this look and I tell him to just trust me he nods and walks away. I walk out to the meeting grounds were we have all of our pack meetings.

I made sure that Beta Sean was on my right as well as his son Nathan on my left. I turn to the pack and tell them "I'm your Alpha (everyone bows) I continue to say, because I have know male heirs our law states that my next of kin will take over as Alpha. Since my brother and his mate have all girls as well as I. I have decided that we have know choice but to have someone of Alpha blood take over as Alpha of this pack."

Everyone is turning there heads and looking at me in confusion. I can see this in there eyes I need to get this out before they think I'm crazy and have lots my mind. "I tell them I spent several hours in the records today and came across some information that was very interesting."

I nod to my Beta and he step closer to me, I tell the pack of my findings about Sean's family and tell them that Beta Sean has no desire to challenge me to become Alpha. So I lay it out there to everyone because of my findings "I believe Nathan should take over for me as Alpha when he becomes of age.  I will be training him everyday to take over, my only stipulation his that he mates with one of my daughters."

"Because of his Alpha blood line as well as mine I'm hoping we will be able to create more Alpha heirs in the Lake moon pack." I look at Nathan who is looking at me with shocked I mine link him to say "get that look off you face an Alpha shows know emotion except in battle." He nods his head and looks at the pack sternly. I hear someone in the crowed say " yeah Nathan just don't take the cute sister" and everyone  laughs. (ring, ring, ring) (ring, ring, ring)

***Flashback End***

(ring, ring, ring) I shake my head and look down the phone is ringing again I pick it up and say hello.

"Hi this is Doctor Anderson from UCLA Hospital I'm looking for a Travis Summerland"

A: This is him can I ask what this is about and how did you get this number?

Doc: I'm sorry for calling so late but I have been trying to find you for a year now. Did you know a woman by the name of Angelia Henderson?

I lean back in my chair and blow out a deep breath I haven't heard her name in almost  eleven years.

Doc: Hello Mr. Summerland are you still there?

A: Y Y Yeah I'm still here what can I do for you and what do you mean did I know a woman name Angelia?

Doc: I'm sorry to tell you this but Angelia died a year ago in a car crash. I've been doing a lot of research and found your name on a couple of documents that she had. It has taking me this long to even find a number on you.

I lean over my desk, rub one of my hands in my hair and over my face. I can't believe she's gone my heart feels like its going to come out of my chest.

A: Thank you for calling me and letting me know was there anything else?

Doc: Hmm this is kind of awkward your daughter has woken up from her coma two weeks ago.

A: MY DAUGHTER! You must be mistaken all of my daughters are here with me.

Doc: I'm sorry I guess the birth certificate that I found must be wrong. I don't see how that is I'm sorry to have disturb you so late I will keep looking there must be another Travis Summerland in Oregon. Have a good night.  He hangs up the phone.
