Learning Control

Yesterday afternoon I had a great time out with the girls. I found a fabulous dress and the perfect open toe silver heels to match. I love the fact that the shoes tied up the calf of my legs. It is definitely going to give off the goddess look. Especially, with the split on the side of my thigh high dress. The dance was around the corner and we couldn't wait to just have a normal night out.
However, I had to brush that aside for the moment and focus on what really matters. Actual school. I know that today after school Hunter called forth a meeting. He wants us to learn control of our communication skills. I laugh at the fact he is trying to make it sound so professional. He could have just said Telepathic connection or something. However, I'm not too worried about it. I am trying not to worry about Hunter or Kai, nor any other boy at this moment. I haven't even spoken to either of them since we gotten our crystal's. Hunter and Kai been spending time together which is good they need to get along in order to work together.

So, therefore; today is a new day. Today is Friday, and I am just wondering what the day has in store for me and my friends...

"About time, you know you take everrr getting ready?" Tatum drags her R's in ever to show how annoyed and impatient she is.

She's waiting for me down the stairs with her arms folded as if she was scolding me. I shoot her a big smile showing today I was not going to be bothered by anyone nor anything, I hope.

"What has you so chipper?"

"Carpe diem!"

"Seize the day, really?"

"Yes, Seize the day, and make it a good one. You never know when something bad might happen."

"Geez, I'll keep that in mind."

"Good," I reply with a bright smile.

"Okay." says Tatum raising her eyebrows at my all of a sudden joyful mood.

"Kay," I remark.

Tatum stares at me awkwardly.

"You can't read my mind, nope not today."

"Huh, are you hiding something from me? Last time you acted this optimistic you broke Aunt Lily's porcelain doll and blamed it on Kai."

I let out a slight laugh.

"First of all, I was ten years old. Second, it is pretty funny now that we think about it. And last but not least, can a girl just be in a good mood?"

"You know the girl we are talking about is you right?"

We both laugh, knowing that most of the time I am bouncing off the walls or looking over my shoulders because I overthink everything. But like I said, today wasn't one of those days.

"I just want to forget about unnecessary things and focus on the now. You know like, carpe momentum." I shrug.

"Carpe Momentum? Really? Now you're seizing the moment? What have you done or what are you about to do, Ava?" She says raising an eyebrow.

I hated when Tatum talked to me as if she was my mother. But she knew me all too well. I could not really hide anything from her. I was like an open book and all my pages were out in the open, being read, even if I did not want them to be. I wished I cloud explain everything to her. But just like Tatum knew me. I knew her. She would be mad that I kissed Hunter and that I keep on beating around the bush when it comes to Kai. Also, I knew who she wanted me to be with. She would want me to pick Kai because that's who she would not want to see hurt. She knew Hunter and I was going nowhere with whatever could be. However, I always thought she had a thing for Kai that's another reason why I avoided my interest in him and most definitely any conversation about him and me.
