Finally, today is the Dance and I could not wait, even though; I was the only one out of my girlfriends that did not have a date. I was still excited. I didn't care that I didn't have a date I was an independent woman. Besides, It's not like no one asked me to go. I just didn't get asked by anyone I wanted to ask me. Maybe I shouldn't have been so picky? The thought flooded my mind the rest of last period until the sound of the bell rang and everyone practically ran out.I was putting my books away in my locker when I feel someone approach me from behind. I quickly turned around to the prettiest of green eyes.
"Hey Kai."
"Hey, Ava." He says a little unease.
"What's up?"
I asked while closing my locker.
"Umm, Here's the deal, I wanted to ask you something but I wasn't sure if you would be okay with it. I mean I know you aren't going with no one and neither am I and honestly, you're the only person I want to go with."
Kai was so nervous, I never saw him this nervous before it was kind of cute.
"Kai Bishop, I would love to go to the dance with you."
"Are you serious?"
"Yes, I am serious."
And I was serious. I had to move on from Hunter and the truth is ever since I noticed Kai was truly interested in me he has been on my mind. I mean I have always thought of Kai but never in this new lighting I am viewing him in now and I am liking it.
"Okay, cool. So eight o'clock"
"Yes, eight is fine."
"Okay, so that means you should start getting ready once you get home."
"Are you trying to say I take forever to get ready?"
"I'm not trying to say. I know."
I bumped him with my arm and he laughs.
"Ava! It's party time!"
Yelled a girl from behind me. It was Hope.
"Yeah! Party your body!"
sings Pee while she walked towards me with Tae and Hope. All of them doing dance moves here and there.
"It's going problematic!" says Tatum with excitement.
I rolled my eyes and shook my head at them.
"I'll see you later. I can see you will be having your hands full." laughs Kai
"Tell me about it." I agree.
The girls and I head back to my house to get ready. Hope and Pee brought their dresses over this morning. We always like to get ready at my place, being that Tae and I both had our own bathroom in our rooms. Penelope always went with Tatum's to get dressed and Hope always came with me. We all alternated to shower. Once we washed off the school day we would get ready. I put on my black silk robe while I did my hair and makeup because with my luck my white dress would have lipstick and highlighter all over it. I straighten Hope's hair for her. She has beautiful silky shoulder-length brown hair. It is full and healthy. She then helps me with the rest of my hair. I decide to do waterfall curls. I normally have my hair straight. So when I get a chance to do something different. It feels as my hair takes forever because it is so long. Hope never complained one bit about it though. She always has patience when it comes to other people. I admire that about her. Once the curls are done. I pinned some hair up and let the rest of my hair flow. Once I have everything the way I want. I grab my dress. I lay it on my bed and stare at it. I couldn't believe it. I am going on a date with Kai. The thought had my stomach in knots.
